I posted earlier today, now the questions are flooding in. So I have another. Has anyone had a really icky taste in their mouth after surgery? I will be two weeks tomorrow and it is still there. Ideas anyone?
I have the same taste in my mouth. I am 2 & 1/2 Weeks po and i have such a horrible taste in my mouth it makes me nasceaus. I think its from my meds though because i had a laproscopy first and it did the same thing.
I hope everyone gets better!! I am dying over hear. I dont feel good at all like some of you lucky sisters say yall do
everything tasted like tinfoil for at least wo weeks post-op...it's due to aneatesthia..and antibiotics they give you in the hospital..this too shall pass..I found salty ans sweet foods the best to keep strength up...and also water with lemon wedge...forget tea<am a big tea drinker > until two weeks ago..one good thing! I did loose twenty lgs. 'cause didn't wan't to eat ....so it's normal sweetie..and as all things..it too shall pass... shzoo
I too had a bad taste in mouth for several weeks after, I chalked it up to being anesethic (can't spell). Even when I coughed I could taste it. It must take several weeks for this to get out of your system .
I remember that taste very well. I had no appetite because everything tasted metallic.
I did find that foods which were sweeter in taste like yogurt, pudding, sweetened juices and the big nono's (junk food) were about the only things that did taste right. So I nibbled on sweets freqently, especially when I couldnt eat a regular meal due to taste.
It passed gradually, over about 2-3 weeks for me.
I was told by my doctor that it was caused from the anesthetic used.
You have the bigger part of it whipped. It should begin to diminish soon
Thank you all, for your replies. Now I wish that I could lose a little weight. My mom is still here taking care of me and I'm loving it. I have probably gained weight eating all the comfort foods of home, for two weeks now. LOL. Thanks again.
