Hi ladies!! I'm new here, this is only my second posting, but I've found this site so helpful to my recovery. I need to vent. My doc wants me to see a specialist think that I have interstitial cystitis or IBS, either way I am in almost as much pain as I was pre hyster from the endo, and I have no health insurance so I really can't see a specialist... And my brother just had a baby yesterday. I'm feling like the worst sister on the planet because I'm not excited. I'm 27 and wasn't able to conceive before my hyster became necessary (stage 4 endo, dermoid on ovary) and I'm struggling to deal with the fact that I can't have kids and my brother has a newborn? How selfish is that? Anyway, I just needed to vent... please respond, I could use to hear from someone who understands!

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time. What symptoms are you experiencing, and where in PA is Newton?

Sorry

about all the problems you are having at such a young age!! I am 28 but I was lucky enough to have 3 kids before my hysterectomy.. I kind of know what you are going threw I had a miscarriage when a close friend of mine was pregnant and I got to see her pregnancy go threw with no problems and mine was full of them before I miscarried...
Just keep your head up and try to be happy for him. I know how hard it will be but just think you have a neice or nephew to spoil then give them back when you are done spoiling!! I know that isnt as good as having your own. I hope everything gets better for you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep us posted, Kris1975

thanx for the replys!!

To answer some questions, Newtown is a suburb of Phila. The sx that I am having are repeated UTIs, one bladder infection, sharp and radiating abdominal pain, bloating, frequent and urgent peeing. Doc thinks something urological or gastric. Thanx for the words about the new baby. Thankfully I have a place to vent so that I can be excited and happy for my brother (also my 2 best girlfriends are pregnant due Jan and Feb) and for my friends because I can get my feelings out here. I don't want to put a damper on their special time and it's not about me!!! So I'm so grateful to have a place to vent so I can save my loved ones from feeling that they have to worry about me!

mbeth411,
I will be praying for you at this difficult time in your life. It seems to always come in two's or threes's.

When was your surgery? Soon after my surgery and for about 2 months urinating was extremely painful. My DR told me it was so called "normal" becuase of my endo and adhesions that connected my bowel and bladder to my uterus. I also had to go on antibiotics not only for my UTI but also my open incision problem (another thread).

I had my TAH/BSO July on 30th I still experience some pain after I empty my bladder and after some BM's. I try and drink alot of water and eat enough fiber. But, what is enough...the best you can!

I am 43 and have had IBS sicne I was a teen and suffering with Endometriosis.

I had a colonoscopy 1 week before my hyster and the gastro DR told me I had IBS, all else was clear. Well I knew about the IBS and I mentioned to him that as I get older it is more unpredictable. The DR told me that eating fiber and drinking lots of water is the best thing for it. If I feel it is out of control and want to be on meds to call him.

As far as your feelings for the new baby in the family...
Only you can make it better. I can't say I know how you feel, but please allow yourself to feel bad and then let yourself feel good that you can give this child alot of joy in his or her life. I know it is not the same as your own, but pray about it (if you will) if not I am lifting you up in prayer) and ask God to help heal your hurt and to help you feel peace in your heart and give you some joy for your brother and your friend's new arrivals to come.

I pray that you will be able to get through your hurt and pain from your own body's suffering and be able to share in the joy of your friends and family.

I truely believe that God does hear you and know your sufferings.

It was my faith that got me through a very tough time in my life at age 25 when I was diagnosed with Endo and not conceiving at that time.

Time does heal pain and suffering. Ask your gyneo if they can help you through this with sample of antibiotics to start with. Let them know that lack of insurance is a major issue. I hope and pray that they will understand and help you.

God Bless you and know that your sisters are here for you.

Hi: I emailed you personally to but, in case it doesn't go through I decided to also reply here. What you are going through is so hard. I'm 27 years old and I have two wonderful children girl-4 and boy-2 and I was feeling sad to that I can't have anymore but, lucky that I have my two. You should allow yourself to feel the way you need to at the time Its very hard to see so many people around you having children and you can't I imagine. My sister-n-law disconnected herself from me when I was pregnant and it made me feel horrible so stay as much involved in your family and friend's life as possible and on those days that you can't don't and explain it to them. Its easier for them to deal with then instead of guessing why you may avoid them. Its hard just to go through this at our age to begin with. I know it took me going to the ER and the doctor for 2 years continuesly to finally decide to have a hysterectomy. Its so final. I also have had UTI's a lot and now I"m on macrobid for it and have diarrhea from it. Its like fix one thing and have another problem. I was also told I have IBS. Its very frustrating and painful. Big Hugs and feel better soon. Jill27
