Sharp Pain in lower abdomen

Hi,

I'm 4 weeks post op, and have been having a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen. I just figured it was the internal stitches healing. I went to my regular doc today for a cold and told her about it and she said (and this made a lot of sense) that when they do surgery, they cut nerves and stuff, and as the nerves grow back together they fire. It was like a light went on it made so much sense!

Just thought I would share that with everyone.

Sharp Pain in lower abdomen

Hi,

I'm having pain in my right side, it feels like a burning sensation and I started to spot a little pink? I'll call my Dr. tomorrow I'm afraid I might have an infection?

Burning

I don't have any external stitches, mine was all done vaginally. The doc asked me if it was a burning sensation, and it is, but its really really low left side. So I can't see any redness or anything. I don't have any bleeding or bad odor, just that pain once in a while.

Do you still have an ovary there? If so it could be an ovarian cyst.

Lisa,
Do you have an ovary there? Most people don't realize how painful ovarian cysts can be. It is kind of confusing because it isn't there all the time. It starts usually when standing up from sitting, or sitting down (bending at the waist) It might hurt when sitting because it presses on the ovary which is really painful sometimes, that is how mine start and then they get to where it is now, hurting all the time, worse when walking, best when laying down. If it is an ovarian cyst then you might want to make an appointment to see your doctor. Personally I know when it is a cyst, and I know when it gets to the point where I need medical intervention, where it is now, pain all the time getting worse, and often causing nausia. I am going to the doc tomorow. If you have an ovary that may be the problem, it sounds very much like a cyst.
