how large was your fibroid or cyst?
I was wondering what size other sister's fibroids or cyst were. 2001 I had a 22cm uterine fibroid removed w/ uterus. Oct 2003 I had a 15 cm. Ovarian cysofibroma removed w/ right ovary. any similar experiences? Since I have had 2 such large growths do you think I'll have another?

how large was your fibroid or cyst?
Hi. I had a 15 cm fibroid on the outside of my uterus and two smaller ones (don't know the size) inside. I kept my ovaries, so I hope I don't have any more problems.

I feel like a wimp! I had several ranging from 1 cm to 8cm.
I'm sure you both feel soooo much better. I know I do.

how large was your fibroid or cyst?
I had a bunch of little fibroids all over my uterus -- nothing giant but enough little aliens to distort my uterus and enlarge it to the size of a 4-month pregnancy. The biggest alien (I think 8 cm) was pushing so much on my bladder that I had to run to the bathroom every 15 or 20 minutes. Thank goodness those days are over!!!
I also had several cysts in my ovaries and tubes -- that was weird because I was already menopausal so shouldn't have had any, I thought. One side's cysts were filled with yellowish fluid and the other side's had brownish fluids.
Such an education I'm getting about all this!

how large was your fibroid or cyst?
Do we win a prize?
I had a 20cm complex cyst they thought was attached to my right ovary, but turned out to be attached to my peritoneal wall! EEEchhh! It ran vertical, from the base of my pelvis up to the navel area, and I was told it was the size and shape of a "football."
The strange thing was, I didn't know I had it until it was discovered upon manual examination. I had a slightly enlarged abdomen (tummies run in my family) and had taken more frequent trips to the bathroom. But now I see how much smaller my tummy is without it! My bladder seems to have gone from small capacity to gigantic capacity! Yay!!

how large was your fibroid or cyst?
Hello
My doctor didn't tell me the size of my fibroids, but when I had a vaginal ultrasound done, the technician compared them to the size of fruit. She told me that my largest fibroid was the size of a grapefruit and the other three or four were the size of peaches!

how large was your fibroid or cyst?
My doctor didn't say but it wasn't even close to those other ones. I have no clue how big my cyst was but mine are very painful just at a small size of about 3 cm. I believe my fibroid was 6 cm when they did the ultrasound a few months before surgery, I don't know how big the cyst was, I know I had one removed previously that was 8 cm. That was one of the most painful things ever. Then that one grew back twisting my ovary, but still it was fairly small at less than 6 cm. They had to remove that ovary. I had so much pain in my uterus as well as my remaining ovary and they kept emphasizing how small the fibroid was and I kept telling them I didn't care it hurt. The first thing I thought when seeing that you had a 22 cm fibroid is that you had a 2 year old in your womb. With my little fibroid probably around 4 cm, and my cyst (no clue how big it was at time of surgery) you wouldn't think it would make a huge difference but even with bloating from what is going on now and still some swelling, I have gone down an entire size and a half, and lost 10 lbs.

size doesn't seem to equate to pain!
I so agree with you Menriqui, after reading about size of some cysts I find it amazing that there were no obvious pain from such large growths. My cyst developed within a year of my hyst, and I just knew something was going on in that ovary.
My US shows smallish simple cyst but it did increase by 1cm in two weeks, but it is causing me pseudo kidney infection symptons, pain in crouch position, unable to lie on right side, horribly painful if I get slightly constipated and pain radiates up into my shoulder blade and inside ribs. I too have put on weight unexplainedly around torso and have swollen legs and feet and feel like pmt week all the time ( poor hubby!). I can't wait to have this pesky critter removed in January and just hope my other ovary will behave and up its hormone production to cope.

how large was your fibroid or cyst?
I too am not sure the "cm" size of my fibriods, the one I knew I had was lime size inside my uterus, my Dr found more starting to grow after my d&c and myomectomy. We all were in for the big surprise during my TVH when the grapefruit size one was found outside my uterus. The Dr removed 3 lbs of "stuff" out of me during my surgery.
