5 1/2 Months post-op Issues-? Help?

Have not been here for a long time- but problems not getting much better, thought somebody may have had similar
discomfort and could help. April 27th 2000 had a TVH, P&A Repair, and Vaginal Facelift. Recovery has been very slow,
But realize I had very major surgery, had an infection of some type, never really explained very well, but did get past that. Have not seen my Dr. since she released me at 6 weeks. Told me that I did not need to come back unless there are problems, but I have called several times. Nurse always tells me your expecting too much too soon.Ya Da Ya Da. Have an appointment in November, earliest they can get me back in. Thanks for your patience, anyway my major complaint is -- still feel lots of pressure in my vaginal area, feels like I'm falling out-- very similar to the way I felt before surgery, (prolapsed uterus) Have been extremely careful about lifting, etc. But still can not stand on my feet for very long at a time without having this sensation, esp. on hard surface, such as concrete, can not handle the mall for more than 30 minutes, max.
Also have the same feeling when I ride in a car for more than an hour or so. The 2nd concern is , my tailbone area
when I lay down feels as though I have been beat. Sore all across both buttock, like its pulling really tight, relief I get is for Sweetie to massage that area,(trick is for him to not get aroused, Ha) Understand that when they do the rectal repair they tie everything to the back pelvic bone, but just seem to be staying the same and not getting any better. Does anyone have any idea what is going on???????
Thanks so much , I have never posted much- but have gained a wealth of information from all my fellow hysistersisters. This web site has truely been a God Send
THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

In your missive, you didn't say if the doctor who released you was the surgeon or your gyn, or if they are one and the same. I really think that they should check you again, as things do fall and/or reposition themselves inside. Good luck.

Toni can you do me a favor, can you go back to the infection you initialy had and describe it for me? Even though I didn't have all the repair work done that you did. Your current symtoms sound suspiciously like mine did after my surgery and before my second sugery. Would like to hear about this before I elaborate. Thank you

More Info

I was so excited this morning when I checked my post to see that I had 2 replies. Am so anxious for suggestions and info. To answer the ??- yes the surgeon and the gyn are one and the same. And about the infection-- really all that I know was that she said it was a serious infection not an abcess, she did a very through exam, but never specified where the infection was located. Wish I myself had more info on that but thats all I 've got. Becky would love to hear more about your similarities to mine, appreciate it sooooooooo much! Thanks Toni

Hi Toni,
I do not have the symptoms you do but I have suffered some postop complications. Can you insist that you be seen sooner or maybe see your docs partner if he has one? To be that uncomfortable that far along doesnt seen right. I hope all turns out okay and please let us know how it goes.
