adenocarcinoma
I had adenocarcinoma of the cervix and will be starting radiation and chemo. I have a chemo "class" this morning and next monday the simulation for radiation. I wish it had started already every day that passes just make me nervous. I use the term "had" because I think it was in the cervix and the cervix is gone. sHZOO I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I had endocervical adenocarcinoma and went through a TAH, 28 external rad. treatments, 4 doses of chemo and 3 internal treatments. I have a little pelvic lymphedema.
I am recovering - It is slow but I am doing better each day.
I wish you the best of health.

1 year out ~helen.. u can do it
Jan 03 i will have had begun my first round of chemo ...like katiebells i had a tah ,28 radiation treatments 3 rounds chemo and 3 rounds internal brachytherapy..due to a diagnosis of endocervical adenocarcinoma.. the cell form was rare ... clear cell papillary serous, all was removed during surgery but a reacurrence % was high .. and i took my doctors advice and pushed through all treatments ... like so many people do ...and . all is done and i am beginning to feel much like my self again ~ pre tah/treatments. i was told it really takes a good year to regain a full sense about who u are and whats happened and whats changed ... and it does ... take about that ..the % rate of survival is fantastic when caught in time like so many stories on this site ~its a hard year, after a tah plus dealing with cancer ongoing or treatable...be nice to yourselves even when your feeling better ~ which you will ... i remember reading on here last year some one who said ~ ... people get more time off of work to recoupe from knee surgeries & plastic surgeries then women who have had 1/2 they're pelvic floor rmoved not to mention the appendix, lymph nodes..and uterus }that kinda holds the whole enchalada in place} we are left with some real issues, before reconnecting amonst the herd ... so i guess ...im saying be kind to yur selves forever more ~ ..feel better soon and bring something special to treatments ~

Collette and Katiebells
Thank you I needed that this morning, I went to a huge family party yesterday and felt like I was on display the look in peoples eyes when they talk to you I had never seen before. Then to hear them equate their stories of hernia surgery as I know what you went through, was more than I could take. I have not cried or been unable to cope until yesterday. I needed to read what you wrote it helps to know that it'll take time and be good to myself.
Katiebells, what is pelvic lymphedema.

To Helen
Throughout this process I continue to be amazed at just how clueless people can be. I suppose we should cut them some slack because they don't know what they are doing and they are trying to offer sympathy. But sometimes it is so dang difficult to be nice about it when they are being so hurtful, regardless of their intentions.
In July I completed the procedure that you are starting. It's not fun, but it is doable. You'll get through it. And everyone will tell you how wonderful you look, everywhere you go!
Hugs,
Janie
