? About 6 Week Check-Up After TAH

When the doctor inserts the speculum, does it hurt once you've had a tah?

What else do they do/look for at the 6 week check-up?

6 week check up

I too am going for my 6 week check, tommorrow I have some of the same concerns and questions you have. I have concerns about bleeding afterword, is it going to be painful? Well best of luck to you on yours and I hope that all is well. I suppose after what we have been through, this will probably be over fairly quickly. Do you still have a difficult time in sitting? Are you still feeling pressure? I am going to jot down questions for gyn that will hopefully reassure me. Good luck to you.

I'm almost 4 weeks post op. So, I still have some more time for my 6 week check-up. My recovery is going well. I don't experience any pain / discomfort when I sit. I'm not feeling any pressure either. I just hope my 6 week check-up isn't painful, especially since my recovery isn't painful.

? About 6 Week Check-Up After TAH

Hi

I was pretty apprehensive about the 6 week internal too, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was just the same as prior to surgery. I tensed up a bit initially just in case it hurt, but it didn't. He just had a quick look up inside and noticed I still had some healing to do and to hang off on the sex for another week or so. He checked my incision which had healed beautifully, and apart from answering a couple of questions I had, that was that.

I have to say though, that he was very gentle inserting the speculum. All in all it was heaps better than I'd thought it was going to be.

All the best for your appointment.

? About 6 Week Check-Up After TAH

I had my 6 week check up about 10 days ago. No speculum. I actually had an internal by my DR. It hurt just a little. He was pushing a little on my vertical incision just to see how things were, then the internal. I was having a bit of pressure that felt like everything was falling out. He said everything was were it was supposed to be and all was well. I also had a list and he gave me the go ahead for everything except lifting heavy objects and shoveling snow just yet. Give it a few months. That was about it. Hope this helps..........I go for my annual in March. Happy Holidays........Colleen

? About 6 Week Check-Up After TAH

At my 6-week post-tah/bso my doctor inserted the speculum and I just about hit the roof! He said it was pretty tight, normal, and not to worry. Whoa, what a feeling. Anyway, he proceeded to take a good look inside, said I looked great and everything was healing fine, and said I didn't have to come back for another 6 months, so...

No pain here

I had the speculum at 1or 2 weeks to see how I was healing and then again from 6 weeks on every two weeks from that as I had a complication of granulation tissue and was not allowed intercourse till the vaginal cuff (the area that's stitched shut after the cervix is taken out)was healed enough. The speculum didn't bother me at all as he was very gentle and was not suprised as he was always that way. Good luck to you. When I go everyear for my pap it doesn't bother me at all. Before my total Vag. I always had pain during the internal but I don't remember any discomfort with the speculum. Good luck s

I had an internal exam today. My doc only used the speculum and looked around. He didn't insert ANY thing else. I was really afraid it was going to hurt. I had told my nurse that already. So she stayed up by my legs holding my hand reminding me to breathe. It seemed to take about 5 seconds and he was gently removing it. No pain and I have healed very well.
