Pre op yesterday-hyst tomorrow is a go!

Just wanted to let you all know that i had a preop visit yesterday. All they did was check my temp, blood pressure and asked me of any meds i was taking and entered it into the computer. Then I talked to the A-man, i asked him about the epidural for post op pain, and having general for the surgery. he put a note in my chart for the actual a-man/woman that will be assigned to me tomorrow. I hope this can be done!!
Then my doc checked my lungs and heart (from having the flu) to make sure they were clear...and they are! My coughing has finally went away, not totally, but for the most part!
My doc told me that Mr. had gotten bigger and that she will not be able to do the bikine cut, i have to have the vertical incision, which i am disappointed about, so if you can give me any positive feed back on vertical vs horizontal i would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you all for being here, I am not nervous like i thought i would be, but i think i wore myself out the last date, and then had to postpone, so with the holidays and all, i am feeling ok this time, however, i do get butterflies, well more like cartwheels in my stomach when i allow myself to really think about it, but i feel good about everything!
i will post as soon as i am able to. I was gonna have my dh post for me when he comes home at night, but he told me that he is gonna to stay with me, which that really made me happy!

Stay full of hope! It helps to have a positive outlook. I, too, had a very slight cough going in for my hyst and I was glad it didn't hold up my surgery.....after all the waiting and the emotional part of getting ready. I understand being disappointed about the vertical incision....but you'll be fine. One good thing about it is that they can have a lot more room to work in there with a vertical. It causes less bruising on the internal structures I would think. All of our tummies are sore from the belly button on down (not only the incision). The abdominal muscles are healing from being pulled and stretched during surgery. So maybe with a vertical, they don't have to do so much pulling and retracting....so try not to get upset about it. I guess it is out of your control. I think you could ask your doctor if she would reconsider her position and ask specifically why. Your peace of mind is very important.

By the way, I have a scar from the old way of doing gallbladder surgery. It is not noticable at all, and I was ok with wearing a 2-piece bathing suit. Your scar will fade greatly as time goes on.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Stay hopeful! :dance2:

I am very hopeful!! I just took a xanax, after having a long hot bath! I should be able to sleep, I am tired from cleaning and getting everything in order...Should get up around 5:00 to leave at 6. Once I go to sleep tonight, the ball starts rolling! I will wake up to rush to the hospital. At least i didnt have to do any preps tonight, just no eating or drinking after midnight.
I will post as soon as i can. I should be home Sunday.
I cant believe it is finally here...talk to you all soon. See ya pre op, I am on my way to post op. thank you for everything, I would not be this calm without'cha! My best to all of you, talk to you soon.

Best of luck...sister!!!

Take it easy & remember that the important thing is that you are trying to make yourself well & that your figure should be the last thing on your mind....time for 'worrying' about that when you are 100%...you are more than your figure!!!

Best of luck lady! Know that we are pulling for you!!!!!!

Let us know how you are!!!!!!!!!
