Itching with HRT??
Okay, this is going to sound really weird, but I am having a weird itching all over.... especially on my hands, forearms, calves and feet... It is to the point where I have literally scratched the skin off those areas by scratching so much. Benadryl doesnt seem to help. I started this when I changed from estrace to the femring. Anyone else have this??

Itching with HRT??
Hi Regina
Yes - I am a definate victim of the itchies (I've been getting since week 2 post op).... I have been told by my gynae that it is due to a hormone imbalance ... I also notice that if I scratch myself (anywhere) it is like I'm allergic to myself - I get white raised bumps (Im allergic to a lot of animals and get the same reaction if they scratch me) they go after about 1/2 to an hour but are frightfully annoying, especially when you have the itchies aswell !
I have not found anything that relieves it (I've tried a couple of antihistamines) .. and when it goes to the soles of my feet, I have to stand on a rush mat, and scratch the soles that way ...
Good Luck, I hope that you find a cure !

itchies and femring
I had that exact same thing happen with the femring. I itched my leggs apart. My skin was tore up from just shaving. I finally took it out, tried something else then re introduced it and same thing happened. I cant use it

Itching with HRT??
Dear Regina,
I don't know if my situation is helpful to you, but I'll put it out there, in the event that it may be ~~ for you, or some other dear sister here.
When my estrogen had drastically dropped and prior to beginning any effective Hormone Replacement Therapy, I had intense itching... on the soles of my feet, my palms, my scalp and I also developed "dermagraphia". Dermagraphia is when you are able to take your fingernail, run it along your arm, and it leaves a trail on your skin which finally fades over several minutes. ( the term {dermagraphia} came about because you can write your name or a word on your arm, by light scratching with your nail. My doctor gave me zyrtec which I used for several weeks and then the condition self corrected, at least that was my perception of it. So much of this learning is in retrospect, isn't it? I think, as someone else mentioned here, that in my case also, it was due to estrogen imbalance, but until that was addressed the zyrtec helped with my symptoms. Hope this helps.
Good luck to you at reducing those disconcerting symptoms,
Tedi

Thanks for this ... I have just etched (very lightly with m fingernail!) my name into my arm and yep - it has produced my name in raised red lines .. and still have not faded .. I'm going to ask my GYN about this on Monday !

itch
The problem with some doctors is they do not believe in the natural stuff. I tried everything from store bought to prescriptions and when I finally went to the Health Store they showed me the itches with rashes and it takes it away in about 5 minutes. It is like little sugar pills that you put under your tongue.
Good luck!!!
