Loss of staples after LAVH
Hello everyone,
I'm 4 weeks post op, and I've had some staples come out. My doctor was confused that they could come out, and she didn't say much. She told me staples were used internally, but the final part of the operation requires stitches. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't know how I could be passing staples if I'm stitched!

They use stables inside when they cutting. They have a tool that cuts and staples both sides of the tissue at the same time. It looks like one has come loose and came out through the wound. Keep an eye on your pain and call your DR if you have any pain or increased bleeding. If you have no change, it might just be one you just did not need.

I don't know what the staples look like, but when my stitches dissolved they dropped out in pieces. Some looked like little toothpick pieces, some like toenail clippings, and some like I had a spider in my drawers. I'm taken aback by your dr's lack of concern, though. I'd press the dr to take another look up there.

I never saw a stich so not everyone does. Do not be worried if you do not see one.
