Weight gain and bloating

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering how to get rid of the weight gain. Alot of days I feel bloated. I am unable to exercise at this time. I will be having ankle surgery next week.

I worked soooooooooooooooo hard to get this weight off and to see the numbers on the scale makes very depressed.

I feel like a loser. I am fat cow.

Please help.

Thanks,
Rebecca

weignt gain and bloating

Rebecca,

First of all, you are not a fat cow. You are a woman who has gone through major surgery, as well as facing upcoming surgery. I'm sure once your ankle has healed, you can start a light walking program. Maybe because of ankle problem, you are less active than before. This will probably all get back to normal when you can resume regular activity level. In the meantime, please be kind to yourself. If health allows, try to drink plenty of water, eat fruit, veggies and lean protein. Maybe your DR can recommend light activity that you can do without causing stress to your ankle. Just a big hug and

I can relate

6 months post op here and almost 20 lbs heavier! I too struggled to get the weight off and got down to 132lbs to now find myself at 150 once again. It's hard to find the time to exercise. I bought one of those Total Gym machines. I really like it (as far as exercising goes) It dosen't put any additional strain on the lower back. My Dr. also prescribed Xenical (Orlistat) it blocks 1/3 of the fat in foods. I find myself making healthier choices in my diet so I'm not spending the afternoon in the loo. The side effects are frequent B.M.'s! Hey, at least I'm regular once again!
Good luck to you AND you are NOT a fat cow!!!

Weight gain and bloating

Hi Rebecca,

You are Not a fat cow nor a loser! I know all of this is very frustrating... See You and I had sugery on the same date. I have not even begun to exercise... I cant... I sit here and I am like OH Man these jeans are gonna burst...Along with my Tummy...I know it is very Frustrating...Hang in There! I keep telling myself it is going to get better. However in my case it seems to be getting worse...I hope you are doing good since your surgery. Are you having any pains or anything like that?

I am just wondering because we had the surgery the same day. I know your having surgery on your ankle. I hope and pray that all will go well and you will recover from that quickly. Good Luck with your surgery. God Bless

Weight gain and bloating

Hi Rebecca,

I hear you loud and clear!! I am having the same problem. I worked on loosing weight last year and now it seems I have put all the weight back on. I called my doc yesterday to see why I am gaining, when most of the ladies here say they have lost weight. I seem to also be retaining water. Doc said no excersise for me at this time. She thought that maybe the weight I was putting on was water weight. (I hope so). She said to really drink lots of water and keep feet elevated as much as possible. So this is what I am doing. Hope it helps.

Take care
