My doc suspects I have adeno.....does anyone here have back pain from that? I am just wondering what exactly it feels like. I did some research on this and found out one of the symptoms was back pain.....which I have.
thanks

Oh my goodness don't mention back pain to me!!!

I have adeno and for the past few weeks have had constant lower back pain that is killing me - painkillers don't seem to be touching it at all. I am just hanging out for my doctors appointment on 28 January.

Hi Chele

Getting a date for my surgery will help - something to focus towards.

Nothing I eat or do seems to have an effect on my pain, either back pain or abdominal pain. It comes and goes on its own.

Just do as much research as you can, if you go into search on this site (up the top) and type in adenomyosis you will find all sorts of threads which will help.

My main symptoms apart from the back pain are abdominal pain, really heavy bleeding, with clots, at all times of day and nite and at any time of the month. I don't have most of that now (except the pain) as I have a mirena iud in place. This has helped but I am just ready to get rid of it all and move on with my life.

What other symptoms do you have? you can email me direct if you like.

Naomi.

Hi Nome,
My symptoms dont seem to be as bad as everyone else. I have heavy bleeding with alot of clotting. Not to be gross but when I go to the bathroom, it sounds like I am having a bm. I do have back pain, but it is worse when I sit for a long time, and when my bladder is full. And then sometimes I just bloat and have abdominal pain for no reason. I take no meds tho. My biggest thing besides my yucky periods is I am tired all the time. It's real embarrassing when you almost fall asleep in church.
when did your problems start? I had my tubes tied after my 4th child and I started having my heavy periods after that. It's been about 8 years now and it really didnt get real bad until I started getting the D&C's. sounds weird I know. Are you having your ovaries out? sorry if the questions are to personal.... just tell me if they are!
thanks

Everything about these matters is gross - I am so beyond being grossed out about anything!

I am 36 and have had pain from endo since I was 13 but put up with it until having probelms falling pregnant. Had all sorts of treatments and surgeries and fell preggers in the middle of a marriage breakdown, now divorced and our son is nearly 6.

I had a c-section and have had worse problems since then. Now have adeno and multiple fibroids and as I don't want more kids cannot wait to have it all removed. Well not all, will keep my ovaries and see how that goes. I don't really want to take hrt so hopefully all will be well.

I certainly understand the tiredness but if I had 4 kids I would be a lot tireder (is that a word!).

Let us know what you decide.

Have you had an MRI? Gyn-specialist radiologist can often find it...

Sometimes, though, it hides even from the most expert eyes. For some reason, mine showed up on both sets I had taken - but the first interpreting radiologist did not recognize it as such. The second confirmed it in the films he took and in my first set as well.

I am in constant pain - which feels and has always felt like plain old menstrual cramps but varies in intensity. My pelvic pain specialist/surgeon is trying to control it (and stop my cycles) with progestin-only therapy; soon I'll be changing from Norethindrone to Megace for it.

Yet I'm still on the fence about having my uterus out, even knowing the problem is there. It's because my doctor can't guarantee I still won't be a pain patient afterward. No one can make any guarantees, I realize - it willl, in the end, depend on me to be resolved and want it done.

If it would help your decision, seeking out a specialist in gyn radiology might be a good idea. Hope that helps!

Sending painfree wishes....

Hannah
