Pre-Op Hysterectomy

I found out on Sept 26th that I had to have a hysterectomy I was very shocked I went to my DR in the moring and saw the OB/GYN in the afternoon. I will see the OB\GYN again on the 31st Oct and go into the hospital on the 2nd Nov. I don't know what kind of hysterectomy I'm having.But your site has help me a lot to understand all about hysterectomys and how to look after my self. Thanks alot DianeT

How lucky you are to have it progress so quickly, I was strung along since March of this year waiting for them to decide when & how... You take care and keep in touch here, this is a great place to learn all about it! All of these ladies are great!

Hi Diane,
My name is Diana. I'm going in the day before you, Nov. 1st. I'm having a LAVH, but don't know about ovaries, etc. Will find all that out on pre-op. Thinking they'll leave ovaries since ultrasound said they were ok, but I guess you never really know what they'll do until their in there and can see the culprits.
A friend of my friend went in for a myomectomy and came out with a TAH/BSO.
