Yikes!

Four days to go and a nervous wreck. Last week I was very together and ready to rock 'n roll. Now as the day's pass I am an emotional mess. Today had plans to do so many things around the house but spent most of the day here, or on the phone with friends who have had hysts. Thankfully I have great girlfriends, who came over today with a bedtray, bed(sitting) bolster, & extra large panties. Had to model the panties for DH which gave us both a laugh and needed release. I know he is nervous too. I have never had surgery, other than outpatient d & c's, or stayed overnight in hosp. This waiting is AWFUL. There should be some kind of rule that once you decide on a hyst they do it within a few days. I know that's not reasonable but I am not thinking rationally right now. Tomorrow's pre-op, something else to worry about. Worry, Worry, Worry, to the point where I am worrying about worrying! What a hoot huh. Thank you for listening to me rant....this site is a GODSEND!

Same here

Hey Peg,
I'm having the same issues you are.....doing good, doing good...today ........UGH.
DH & I went out in the pouring down snow & sleet, just to get me pancakes from IHOP. During the meal...it hit me, This is the week. Then every one from church this morning was telling me good luck, will keep you in our prayers...i think it just hit me all the sudden.
Let me know how pre-op goes tomorrow...mine is wednesday...will be thinking about you. Keep in touch!

Yikes!

Peg & Amie, I know you're probably sick of hearing it, but the waiting really is the hardest part. Soon you both will be es: and on the road to recovery.
Try to do something nice for yourselves - massage, trip to hair salon, girls night out, ie; whatever make you feel good. My ers are with you both for a complications free surgery and recovery. Blessings, peggiesue

thanks

Peggiesue,
Thanks for your prayers...the more I get, the better I feel. I'm sure we are all just jittery about the waiting...it's still hard not to be.
I'm snowbound here. Am trying to figure out what to do for the next 2-3 days. Can't clean house for all that time.....any suggestions???

Yikes!

I agree with Peggiesue - the waiting IS the hardest part! Do treat yourselves to something special - it really will help you to relax. Also, if you can forego any caffeine, that might help as well.
Good luck! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!

The emotional rollercoaster

was a tough ride before surgery. There were many days that I wanted to cancell it, other days when I couldn't wait any longer and other days when I was just so tired. But one thing that I really appreciated during my recovery was the prep work that I had done before, the grocery shopping, meal freezing, housecleaning and redecorating my bedroon. Well, actually I started my bedroom 5months before surgery, but finished it (well almost) just before.

This site was a welcome relief. It was great talking to others who were going through the same thing.

Yikes!

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers! Doing better today...this really is a roller coaster ride. Cricket we will get through this. We are supposed to have more snow today and tomorrow into Wednesday. So will probably be snowbound too. Just what we need more idle time....

Yikes!

Hi Ladies,

I understand getting scared and constantly worrying. My LAVH is scheduled 2-6-04 and I am also snowbound too. It's nice having the time to prepare but waiting gets harder each day it gets closer. Last night, I started preparing my grocery list for the weekend and thought this will be probably my last list until afterwards. I am working right up until the day of the surgery. The biggest thing I'm worried about getting sick and having to postpone. Good luck to all of you ladies and thank you for the much needed support. Tam

P.S. Having lavh for endo!

Cricket and those snowbound

Hi Cricket & others snowboundees: if you can get off of the computer (I admit to belonging to too many groups) here are a few suggestions: when weather permits get out and build a snowman, write letters (friends in distant places will like to hear from you), compose a poem, bake some cookies or make some fudge (yummy), phone friends or perhaps an old aunt or uncle other relative you've been out of touch with (bet they'd love to hear from you,) share some morsels with God's little creatures-they're cold and may find it rough finding food with the snow/ice out there (check some web sites for ideas on making some easy "recipes" for the birds, squirrel, etc. and they may bring a smile to your face if you watch them feed.)
Come on gals, bet many of you have much better ideas then mine. Blessings, peggiesue

Light at the end of the tunnel

No pun intended, lol. Hmm, does Victoria's Secret offer big panties? They should come out with a hyster section in their catalog. Can you imagine Tara Banks modeling big panties?

I can imagine your angst, but just keep forging ahead. You are just about to turn the corner so hold your head up high and await your crowning ceremony.

You are "gettin' it done" and I'll be thinking about you and hoping for the best..am waiting for my bloodwork results and a date. Last Monday 1/19, at my doc's I asked "How soon could this be done" and she said, "well, January is kind of out." It would have been neat if she said, "How about this Thursday?". I would have said, "Sure!."

Anyway, true test of DH's devotion would be for you to ask him if you can have the remote control on Superbowl Sunday evening.
Second true test would be to ask him to model the big panties. LOL. Keep a sense of humor, it'll get you through anything!
