weight lifting advice for post op

I'm 8 weeks post op and ready to head back to the gym. I'm just wondering how others eased back into the weight lifting routine. Did you do lots of reps with really light weights? When did you start increasing weights so you felt the burn? My doctor cleared me for all weights and exercise so I'm trying to figure out how to proceed.

Thanks, Tammy

Tammy!
I tried lower weight the first time, but I needed the burn, so the next time, I used the weight I used to but with a fewer reps. I had no problems. I just stopped if I felt tired! It was so great to get back at it!
