6 weeks and counting down to SEX

Hi Lorraine,

Once your doctor clears you for sex it is best to resume slowly and gently. Have some lubrication on hand in case you need it. I was nervous the "first" time after surgery too - everything turned out just fine for me.

Give your doctor a call and discuss your options for the menopause symptoms. You may also find it helpful to visit the HysterSister forum called The Hormone Jungle for support.

Take care.

6 weeks and counting down to SEX

Try not to stress over it! I am almost 4 months post-op,so that is easy for me to say...I know, I was very concerned about resuming relations too. It all went smooth! In fact, it is all much better than it had been in so long!!!!! Just try to relax and enjoy!! Take things slowly and YOU be the one in control....start with outercourse! You will know your limitations......if there are any!!! For us, everything is SO much better!!!!! I hope you have the same feelings four months from now!!!!!

6 Weeks and Counting

Dear Lynn and Ronda,
Thank you so much for your support....I need to hear that...and if Ronda can make it past all the problems she encountered then so can I...thanks again and yes I spoke to the Doctor about the surgimenopause and she is going to prescribe something today, she was in surgery all day yesterday, her nurse called though to keep me updated and ask about problems. Thanks and of course I will have more questions soon again...always do.

6 weeks and counting down to sex

Dear Lorfinn,

Don't worry, if you take it easy it will be OK.
I have just been cleared at 6 weeks. I had TAH BSO and posterior repair.
I was a bit sore at the entrance at the back where the scar tissue is a bit tight but it was fine when we got past that. I was really nervous about it and could not relax properly at first but enjoyed it more as I realised nothing awful was going to happen.
It will take a bit pf practise before I am fully inot the swing of it again, but it was wonderful to be able to do it again after seemingy so long.
I thought we would not be able to do it at all because we had a lot of snow and I thought my partner would not be able to get to me, but he arrived despite the snow with a bottle of champagne which we had in bed! That helped!!
Good luck,
Seaspirit
