"luck" home and recovering from surgery

I like to thank everyone who responded to my posts and this site for great advice concerning my surgery. The one thing that I enjoyed the most was the list of what to bring to hospital. My mini stereo with headphones and cassette player came in real handy since I ended up with a room in Pediactics & my Morphine dosage was not doing anything for the pain.I found relieve with Percoset until an adverse reaction to it stared kicking in & I began itching horribley. Finally I was given Demoral ,then Iwas told some people who are allergic to Tylenol with Codeine can not tolerate Percoset either.Thought I'd pass that advice on.My abdominal binder is my best friend.I have miminal discomfort getting up or down.AS for hunch walking.I am using my walker to straiten my gate.My only concern is keeping my staple bikini incesion clean and dry.Now if I could eat without passing gas.

"luck" home and recovering from surgery

Hi there luck! Welcome home! Now you're a

They put you in Pediatrics? That hospital must have been hoppin'! Gee, I'm sorry to hear about the reaction to the Percoset. That had to be just a bit frustrating!

Getting up and down can be a bit of a challenge can't it? I remember when I got out of bed the other day, something was different. It took me a few seconds to realize that I hadn't felt ANY kind of discomfort. Now if I could just stretch without feeling like I was going to pop something!

I'm glad you're home! Take it easy and don't over do it.

thanks from" Luck"

well,it is one week and one day since surgery, and my swelly belly is almost gone, and getting out of bed is comfortable. The sofa is another story.I get my staples out Monday.Docter wanted them out 3 days ago.Like I was gona run there 5dys after surgery. It still is uncomfortable to clear my throat or sneeze and watch out for swallowing without enough liquids. My pillows are now my best friends.I only where my abdominal binder sporaidically and move real slow .I got the nerve to take a shower yesterday. The gas-x suggestion really helped.now if I could sleep on my side without hurting back . Hope every one else is recovering just as well. "Luck''
