I am not sure but your post made me laugh. Tree trunk legs. I was getting out of the bath today and thought man my legs look like HUGE hams. A lot of people are asking me if I lost weight. The answer is no, it has all gone to the lower half of my body. I am starting to look like a weeble.

I hope you are feeling better.

Hey you two...still have jello thighs after 2 1 / 2 years post op.,
Acupuncture of the femoral triangle helped loads, but the vascular
fluid still clings....don't wear shorts anymore., but am still small,
thank the Lord.
Know some women swell in thier ankles for a week or so
post op, then it's gone. Hope this is the case for you.

Sometimes in the course of pelvic surgery, the lymph system can get damaged, which causes what we call "dependent edema". I wear support hose all the time now, no more cute socks (they leave marks for days) and try to keep my feet up as much as possible -- not easy as I either work on my feet for 6-8 hours (I literally only sit to go to the bathroom) or am sitting and working in the computer.

If you can, it might be a great idea to track your own intake and output, and since you had this surgery, I would make very sure that your doctor is aware that you are on diuretics (water pills). Your swelling could also be signs of a kidney problem, so it's important to get that call in to your doctor's office.

Hope you're feeling better soon!
