Rainy Oregon newbie here

I just got scheduled for surgery yesterday. I am having surgery for a prolapsed uterus on 2/19. My problem seems so small compared to what some of you have been through. My heart and prayers go out to all of you past, present and future princesses.

This website is great. I am so glad I found all of you. I felt that I was pretty informed on the whole procedure when I went in to see my gyn.

Thanks again to this great website and all the support. It makes it so much easier to talk to someone about all the fear and anxiety of it all. I am sure I will turn here often for support and a

Hi samijo32 ,

I had a tvh with repairs almost 4 weeks ago and am doing great.
I, too, felt bad for wanting surgery because of all the others here who are in so much pain and agony. But I decided, quality of life counts for something too. It's so wonderful not having that heavy weighted feeling down there any more and not having that bulge is truly wonderful.

I was embarrassed of avoiding dh because sex was painful and just no fun. We haven't been able to experience life on the other side yet...but soon.

Surgery is a tough and major decision, but once I made it, I was glad. Be sure to check out all the sites here....you'll learn a lot.

Keep us posted,
Blessing,

Hellow rainy newbie...I'm just a southern newbie down here in Sacramento, but I share with you the thoughts on how great a website we have!

I imagine a prolapsed uterus would be really hard to deal with. Are you looking forward to feeling better once you're a princess? We'll be in touch until then.
Blesses!

Hi Sandy,

It's been raining here in Florida all day, too, but is probably a lot warmer than where you are. I'm awfully sorry that you are facing surgery, but I am glad that you found HS and posted to introduce yourself.

I had my hyst for a prolapsed uterus, bowel and bladder, and while my problems were perhaps less painful and debilitating than those of other sisters, it had become a "quality of life" issue for me. Please don't try to compare your need for surgery with that of anyone else - we are all different, with different medical reasons for making our decision.

Please be sure to read the Pre-Op Hints and the Post-Op Hints. They are full of great advice that will help you to prepare for your surgery and recovery.

Also, don’t forget to go back into your control panel and add your surgery date to your profile so you'll be on the calendar and will receive a special greeting from Hyster Sisters.

I hope you'll continue to read and to post any questions that you may have - we'll do our best to help.

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement. They are much appreciated. There is some great information here and I find myself visiting often to help calm my anxieties. I think I am driving DH nuts.

I'm glad you are all here for support. You all have given me a little ray on my otherwise cloudy and very rainy day.
(People in Oregon don't tan, We rust...LOL)

I can't wait to be on the other side. The waiting is the hardest thing. Sure am glad that there is a on the other side of the tunnel. Things have got to get better. I know that this too shall pass!!

Thanks again all.

another rusty Oregonian here....

Hi Sandy,
This site is so wonderful, you will find lots of support and answers here.
I'm just right outside of Eugene in Creswell. I'll be having my hyster at McKenzie/Willamette the 5th (this Thurs.) for a level 3 prolapse, polyps, and DUB. I'm getting nervous but also excited to be pain free. If you need any local support feel free to contact me! Best of luck,
*Melanie
