Ummm......Hi.

Hello everyone. I am super new here and I go for surgery in 17 days and pretty scared. Can anyone fill me in on what I can expect at my pre-op (Feb.11th) and before, during and right after surgery (Feb.18th). Thank you in advance.

Is your pre-op at the hospital or at the doctor's office, or both? Seems some of us see the doc and others just go to the castle to register. I went the the castle, answered questions and gave blood. No doc visit.

Which surgery are you having? I assume your uterus is leaving you. Will it be vaginal or abdominal? Are you keeping your ovaries? The more specific you are the easier it is to find the right sisters to help you with your questions!!

Hi Vicky, welcome to Hystersisters, a wonderful hysterectomy site for info and support.

Pre op can vary quite a bit as Michelle said. It just depends on what your dr orders. Mine started at my dr's office, he answered my questions, I watched a video on my surgery and then went to the hospital. There, I answered questions, asked a few, had blood drawn, a urine test, xrays and an EKG. It was long but easy.

That is the way I felt yesterday as I came into hystersisters. Ummmmm. Well, I've found that ummmm is shared by everyone here.

What we are going through is one big ummmm. Since I've become a sister here, I feel that the ummm has been replaced with, "Whaz up? Okay? Let me share? and best of all, "I'll be with you princess".

So what I mean to say is that the ummmmm should feel better now that you have linked to some very special people. My husband giggled about the "hystersister" thing, and then I asked well do they have a "snorflation, my own .....tion?" Well, you've found a good place. I've been here almost 24 hours and can't wait to log on, because I feel that I have unknown angels here.

So, ummmm like you want. I know that we are all here with fear and courage. The very fact that you are here means that you are reaching out. I am here if you need me. And ummmm is a good sound.
