Pain lower abdomen ever since surgery.

I'm only two weeks post surgery? Of course i have little ones 3 1/2 , and 1 year olds. Who need to be lifted. Thank goodness they weight less than 28 Lbs. I just started to drive today and the pain on the left side is terrible just as bad as after surgery. I know chin up and no whinning unless i have cheese to be a side order. Is this common to have this pain it's more of a burning pain. I know i probably over did it. I have like alot of you super Woman syndrome.

Pain lower abdomen ever since surgery.

Please be careful. I think that twenty-eight pounds is too heavy for you to be lifting at 2 weeks post-op. You have so many internal stitches. They need time to heal. You shouldn't be bending, stretching, or carrying your younger children around if at all possible. I know that is hard with little ones at home but you only have one time to heal from this major surgery. Please take care of yourself.

Pain lower abdomen ever since surgery.

I had my two week check up today and asked if I could lift my 25 lb baby and was told abssolutely not!

Please be careful! You don't want to tear anything or cause any adhesions to form! Anyone that can help with the kids so you don't have to lift them?

Pain..

I agree, we should take it easy. It is so hard to not do the things that we are used too, but we need the rest. I think I overdid it this weekend, and am paying for it today. My bladder is so sore and when it gets full, it is time to go!LOL It pulls a little too, so if it keeps up, I will call the doc, I promise

Take care

Pain lower abdomen ever since surgery

katryn,

I have a 22 pounder that I've had to lift ever since my MIL left at 2 weeks. I feel your pain and can totally relate to what you are going through. I have an 8 and a 6 year old, also, who have to be run from school to activities and feel like a shuttle driver sometimes and have to carry the baby in and out of his seat to his stroller, etc.

I'm having new abdominal pain issues, too and I wonder if we are just pushing it all too much. I'm at the 3 1/2 week point.

My orders showed to not lift anything over 5 lbs. until the 2 week point and I told her that it's unrealistic after that point to think that I can't carry the little man around.

Best wishes to you in your recovery!

Pain lower abdomen ever since surgery.

I am now 7 wks post op. I was told to take it easy and not lift anything over 10 lbs. At two weeks, I had done too much and had tore an internal stitch which leaked and I got an infection. I had to be put on two antibiotics and could not move for an entire week. It is very difficult for us at times to do exactly what we are told, but if we don't we will just pay for it 10 times more in the end. We know that this is major surgery and even though we may feel better, it will take a lot of time for us to heal completely. I am still experiencing pain off and on if I exercise too much or don't take mini breaks during the day. Try to take it easy as much as you can and try to find alternatives to lifting, they are out there. Lots of luck

Pain lower abdomen ever since surgery.

I am also guilty of lifting my 20 month old and wonder if I have done damamge internally. I have simular pain it seems worse than it was before. It is sooooo hard with babies at home. How do they check to see if you've torn internal stitches? I go to my Dr. thurs. for the 1st time since surgury. It will be 23 days post op at that point. I have been sick to my stomach as well. Should I ask to be screened for damage ? What can be done to fix any that may have occured?
Appreciate any input.
