South Beach Diet

Does anyone know a good website explaining the South Beach Diet? I am interested in learning more about it.

i'm just starting on the SBD and i found lots of addt'l recipes (different from the book) on www.lowcarbing.com. there's also other info in there as well.
good luck to both of us - i spent about 3 hours in walmart yesterday trying to get all my groceries for the first week - phase I! hopefuly it will be worth it!

if you go to www.southbeachdiet.com, there is a place where you can sign up for a free daily tip for the SBD. you can pay to join and get in to the whole website, but just getting these tips has been great - one gave me a chili recipe for phase I, one talks about what condiments are the best choices, etc. you may want to sign up for the free tip - it seems to be a good thing!

when you go to www.lowcarbing.com, look over to the right hand side and go to the message boards - once you get into that area is where all the SBD recipes are. sorry to be so confused and confusing! i promise this is my last email!

Prevention.com has a pretty comprehensive article on the South Beach Diet. Much of it is taken from the book. They also have a Glycemic Index that you can print out.

Also on the Prevention site, there is an awesome forum for SBD. I have been following it since Sept. I lost about 15 lbs (and would like to lose about 10 more after surgery.) I haven't followed it too strictly since Christmas, put on about 3 lbs. But, I have to say, it is the easiest, most "common-sense" approach I have ever tried to lose weight. It's all about good carbs, whole grains and moderation. Go the the SBD forum - you will find so much info. Good luck!

Thank you so much for all of the information. I have been checking out the different websites and have found a lot of good information. I especially like the Prevention.com site. It sounds like this diet is healthy and possible. I just might have to try it.
