bleeding after six week check--anyone else have this??

I went for my six week check up from TVH with A&P repair, bladder tack. I thought I was doing pretty good. Well after exam, I bleed enough for a pad and my doc said that I was healing well, just not complete yet. Anyone else had this happen? Does it take longer to get over the bleeding when you have a vaginal hyster? Thanks for all the help I have found on this site

I had a little bit of spotting, but not much. Don't worry about it, unless it continues or gets worse...and then you need to call the doctor right away! It is good that you are healing normally, but it will take time! Your body takes one full year to be completely healed internally, so don't rush things. Plus you need to remember that you had some other repairs on top of the hyst. I really don't think that vaginal verses abdominal has anything to do with it. Just stay off of your feet and continue to rest until this bleeding subsides. It is perfectly normal for you to still feel tired from time to time, so don't get discouraged! Take care of yourself!!

p.r, when I went in yesterday for a 4 week checkup I mentioned that I hadn't bled since leaving the hospital and I hadn't seen any disolving stitches come out either. She went on to say still no intercourse until 6 weeks and that I may still have bleeding and that if it's bright RED and fills a pad that I should phone her. So I'm not sure if she was saying that after resuming intercourse I may bleed or if it will simply be at the 6 week point.Either way, it sounds like it's not out of the ordinary to bleed at this point.

There's no harm done by calling your Dr. you know. After all, it's your body & health we're talking about and we need to know whats going on

Take care
