Hi lori,

Welcome to Hyster Sisters!! I am so sorry that you have been in such pain for the last couple of years. I didn't have adenomyosis or endometriosis, so I don't have any personal experience to give you, but I did find this sentence from an article in our Resource Forum (the link is at the top right, under the banner):

  Quote:
I have seen occasional cases of diarrhea, bloating and nausea clear up after removal of a uterus involved by adenomyosis.
http://www.endometriosistreatment.or...enomyosis.html

Have you talked to your doctor about the painful diarrhea? What does he think could be causing it? If you haven't called his office yet, please do it tomorrow, and let us know what he tells you.

I'm sure that others will come along soon who have more information to share. Please keep on reading, researching and posting your questions. We'll do our best to help.

hi lori,
i have endo and adeno as well. will be getting my surgery tomorrow....yes, i have suffered painful diarrhea episodes for years ... crampy pain ....especially around my cycles , but it had become anytime in the past few years , time for it to end for me ..
my doc feels there is endo on my bowel and possibly an ovary stuck to it ....
this seems to be common in many cases with endometriosis
good luck

I had my surgery on 1/23 mainly for adenomyosis - but they found my left ovary which had endo and a cyst which was attached to my colon. And yes - I have had diarhea - painful cramps for the last couple of years - esp around my monthly. Of course - I'm still recovering so not everything is normal - but I do feel alot better and can't wait for the coming weeks to start feeling more and more better.

My surgery is Wed. I was diagnosed with IBS about a year ago, but my gyn thinks that it is connected more with my endo/adeno and adhesions. My bowel problems have gotten so bad in the last few months that I'm in the bathroom with extremely painful cramps & diarrhea about 4 times on a good day...on a BAD day it can be up to ten. After the cramping, I have trouble urinating -- it almost feels like there's something blocking everything in there, and there probably is!

I now have trouble when I eat just about anything -- the only things I can tolerate that don't immediately send me to the bathroom in tears of pain are bland foods, broths, etc. I stupidly tried to eat Chinese food tonight and ended up running for the potty after four or five bites.

I'm trying to have faith that I may have pain relief and relief from my symptoms after my hyst and after the endo implants have been lasered off my intestines. As it stands, I don't even have a life anymore...I had to go out today for my pre-op screening, shopping for last-minute stuff, and even a 3-hour wait at the bloody DMV! After I got home, I was miserable...swelly belly, pain in my ovaries, just general exhaustion. I can't wait to get this over with!!!

Hi Lori!

I have Endo and am going for my TAH/BSO on 2/17. I get diarreah from endo as well, espeically around my period. Sometimes 1/2 dozen times per day... I have heard that Endo is the Cul De Sac will trigger Diarreah. Dosc have found Endo there twice during Laps....

I had been diagnosed IBS for years. I had a TAH Jan 13,2004 and have had NO bowel symptoms since. I told my surgeon and he was not surprised. I have not seen the pathology report yet but will not be surprised if adeno is diagnosed. At this point I don't care. I feel GREAT.
