Pity party comin' on

Hi Sisters, I have mild MS(multiple sclerosis) since 1982. Two years ago I had major surgery for Hodgkins lymphoma(cancer) and underwent 6 months of chemo. Chemo brain and menofog together is a trip in itself. Anyway, now I am facing a TAH/BSO and bladder repair in the next couple of weeks. I am awaiting my date. I have a fibroid the size of Montana, and an 8cm ovarian cyst. Why the pity party, you ask? I returned to work as a Special Education Assistant after being on medical leave for a year. I only worked two months, and now this next thing hits out of nowhere. I am not happy. Plus, my last son moved out this weekend.. I am very emotional anyway, and this did not help. I have a teriffic husband, but we have been through alot in the last two years. I think I need a "group hug".. Monkette

Many hugs being sent your way. My dh has MS too, so I can somewhat identify with what you're going through. I'll remember you in my prayers. I'm so glad to hear your husband is terrific. Mine is too. Some of our sisters are not so lucky. This website is wonderful. You'll find a lot of support here.

We are all here for you

I am so sorry to hear of more problems for you - you definitely have had more than your share of heartache and illness. It is true that some of our "sisters" aren't fortunate enough to have supportive husbands so you can be thankful for that! My husband and I joke about how great it will be when the kids are out of the house so we can run around "naked" - ha but I know that it must be hard, in reality, when they actually do leave. Keep reaching out to the ladies on this site - they won't let you down. Our thoughts are with you.

Pity party comin' on

Monkette-
I never turn down invitation to a good party, so here I am!
I agree you have certainly been dealing with a full plate. It must be really a let down to finally get back to work only to have to leave again for at least 2 months. All I can say is that after what you have been through this surgery should be a breeze!
Yes it is major surgery and takes time to heal and fully recover, but for me it was not as bad as I made it in my head. I have had 13 surgeries, counting my hyster. Sometimes, ignorance is truely bliss, cuz the more hospitalizations and surgeries you have the more you know and the more nervous you get.
Hopefully after this, you will be done for a long time.
MY kids are still small, so I cannot identify with how you are feeling about a child leaving "the nest". When you get home though, then you can take care of yourself and that is one less person to worry about for now. I know that adult children are independant, but when they live under your roof you still tend to care for them and take care of them.
Good luck to you, keep posting, I look forward to reading your posts here and from the "other side".

Pity party comin' on

Hi Monkette,
You really HAVE been through soooooo much! Wish I were there to give you a REALLY BIG {{{HUG}}}!
I'm so sorry you have had to go through soo much! Sometimes life seems so unfair! I, too, am happy that you have a hubby that will stick by you. Treasure Him!!! There are not many good ones left!!! I understand about the son moving out. My son moved out last week and he is the oldest. I didn't want him to go, but he wanted to "BE A MAN". I THINK IT KIND OF TOUCHES THE "MOM'S" HEART a bit more than the dad's. (Just my opinion) I know this sounds dumb, but try not to let it stress you out. This can create even more medical problems. Please take care of your self, and if you want to e-mail me, just to vent.. my e-mail is :
sonyiachappelle@hotmail.com Please take care.
HANG IN THERE!!!!
