Countdown Begins

Morning you all
Can you believe this stage of my treatment is already here? I know when I joined this great family back in October you all told my time would go quickly.

Tomorrow morning, 7 a.m., outpatient surgery for my port to be implanted.
Monday at 2 p.m., hubby and I attend a chemo class.
Tuesday evening we will checkin to a hospitality room at the hospital.
Wednesday 8:30 a.m. my first chemo.
thursday 4 p.m. Neulasta shot and we will be headed home.

I am really really hoping that I feel like getting on the computer then. I'll never forget Limbo getting on here right after her first chemo and telling us about it. That gave me such hope!

So many of you going through so many worries.....I will keep you all in my prayers. Always remember that you are special. there is no one in the world exactly like you. Your worth on this earth is priceless.

(((HUGS))))

Dear Nancy,
Just wanted you to know that I am praying for you, that it will all go smoothly and without any complications!! Blast and destroy any cancer cells, right out of there!!!!! Hope you will feel minimal side effects, if any!

Hi Nancy,

Here you are getting ready to have chemo and you are thinking about the Ladies here. That is so sweet. May your port surgery go well. And may your chemo get the cancer while not making you terribly sick. I will think about you and the chemo getting those lousy little cancer cells.

Take Care,

Sharon

Dear Nancy,

I know it will be easier for you once you get this first treatment out of the way. The uncertainty is hard to deal with. Be sure to ask for Ativan if you feel overly stressed or anxious. It really does help you calm down. I know that the Neulasta shot will be helpful to you. You're lucky that they're giving it to you as a matter of course. Some hospitals wait.

Best of luck and please do keep us updated. I was able to type after my first chemo and I know you will be, too. For me, the side effects crept in a few days later. Hopefully you won't have any that are unmanageable!

CHEMO CLASS?

You definitely are getting top drawer treatment. The first is the hardest because it's all new. I got that one down and knew I could do it. (and am now a pro) The port surgery is easy and makes chemo a lot easier. This cancer doesn't stand a chance.

Nancy
Like Ellen said, the 1st chemo is hard because of all the unknowns. The port makes it easier to get the chemo but still have both your arms free. I read, knitted and did embroidery durring mine.

Best Wishes. You will do fine. Soon this phase will also be over.
