I talked to my doctor about my night flashes (window open with snow on the ground) a couple months ago.He said if its xmas stress it might go away or come back and we will up your pills. He also sent my for some thyroid and other blood work to make sure it was hormones.I never heard back and I was hoping to hear it was my thyroid bacause my visions been acting up a bit.I'm on .625 of premarin and on the climara .05 daily.I was prescibed the pills in the hospital for surgical menopause and they said I had to wait a few weeks but I would be getting the patch as well.It was great at first,it stopped all my flashes. Now its not going away but I'm still stress out so I don't know if I should complain.I know that I need them but I don't want to over indulge, but I need my sleep too.I don't know how much is too much.I suppose I might need more since its been over a year since surgery and my bodies needs more now maybe?I know I have to eliminate some stress but its not that easy. Thanks!

Hot flashes can be induced by a fluctuation in your hormone levels, which can be caused by stress. I'm going on my 5th year post op and while I am pretty well balanced, whenever I get ill or go thru stressful periods it is not unusual to see a return of the hot flashes.

That said, it is not unusual to have our hormonal needs shift over time. Especially after that first year post op. It may be time to have your levels tested to see exactly where you're at. While testing shouldn't be the final determining factor in your hrt, it can be a helpful tool in determining what's missing and where you should go from here.
