Hello.

This is my first time! I wish I had found this earlier!

I am 5 weeks post-op TAH. I have been doing well! This last week my emotions have been everywhere. Has anyone experienced this!!

I am 1 1/2 weeks post-op TAH and am an emotional wreck. I can not stop crying, whether it is a commercial, a song or a movie. I feel foolish alot of the time too, from being this way. I don't know if it's because I am bored or if it is the drugs, or just the whole shock of the entire procedure. I can't wait for it to go away. To feel somewhat normal again.

I have not had any emotional outbursts yet!! The dr asked me yesterday if I had had any crying "jags" and seemed a little surprised that I had not. TAH with no ovaries left, but on Norethindrone 10mg daily. This is only Progesterone and has helped with depression and hot flashes. No side effects at all for me.

I was a wreck until I started on Premarin. I was having hot flashes and very emotional. I still have a few mood swings, but I am feeling sooooooo much better

I have to admit that for the first few months afterward I felt like someone had died!
I think that every women goes through some kind of grieving period wheather it's early on or later in recovery.
The only advice that I can give you is to keep you chin up and just let it out and go with the emotions what ever they may be.

jenn,I hate to say it but I'm surprised that's it's taken thi long for you to feel these horrible up and down emotions, but it's normal.I was feeling sad and blue, and useless after about a week,(i'm a little over 4 weeks post-op)It got better the last few weeks,as I've gained some strength and I'm able to do more,But listen to your body also, you said you've been doing great, does that mean you're back into trying to do everything you did before your surgery?Physical and mental being sometimes plays tricks on each other.you need rest..rest..rest..and take one day at a time, these up and down emotions are horrible, but try and understand they are absolutely natural and will ease with time and healing.........
