new to this site op on monday 1st march

Hi all, i am new and so glad my friend told me about this site on sunday!!. i am very nervous indeed and i think more so than last month as i went in hospital on the 29th Jan for my op the next day and was gutted to say the least when it was cancelled 10mins before i was due to go down to theatre, but one good thing came from it as i was due to have my birthday and 30th wedding anniversary in the hospital....
I am having a full abdom hyst and don't really know what to expect as to the function of everyday life, the nurse has explained as best she could about the do's and dont's and given me leaflets on my op... but as always it is better to come from someone who has already experienced what i am about to go through.. so i would love someone to let me know, and i thankyou for taking the time out to read all about what i have just babbled on about..

Hi...I can't really answer your questions, because I go in for my abdominal hyst on 3-4, but I can tell you that if you go on the post op forum, or if you go on the left side column on the homepage, it will say hints for pre op and post op. There is a lot of information there that will help you know what to expect. I am so sorry that your initial surgery got cancelled, how nerve racking!! But like you said, you got to celebrate your b-day and annivers. out of the hospital!!! And try not to worry,(easier said than done!), all of these ladies here say that the waiting is the hardest part!

Hi Jane. I'm also having a TAH on 3/1. I have my pre-op tomorrow and then its 5 more days. I'm sorry you had to wait so long for your surgery, I hope all goes well for you... There is so much good information on this site, it is really helpful. Keep in touch. Cindybean.
