two weeks post op/infection?

I've had major pain and tons of tests. I had a huge grapefruit sized tumor on my right ovary and they had to remove it. It was adhered to everything. They had to excise all the tissue away befroe they could get to it or my uterus.
Seven days after surgery I develop a UTI. I was put on Bactrum.
Two days later I was in major pain on my left side.
Went to the Urgent care and they thought it might be renael failure, so the sent me for a CT scan. Only I have to have it without imagining because I am allergic to idodine. It doesn't show if the kidney, uritor or bladder are functioning
They found a cyst on my right kidney. Sent me to ultra sound. Decided it was normal and sent me home.... this was Sat night.
On Monday I called my GYN. I was in his office in 30 minutes... back to the hospital shortly after.
Had to do the CT scan with imaging... but with a fairly new dye that has the iodine encapsolated so it isn't recongnised by the body as quickly. They gave me an IV to flush it out of my system quickly and gave me a steriod and benydrl push before the dye.
Everything went fine. My kidney's fine... everything is working.
I do have a mass of fluid.... blood or infection... on my pelvic floor.
I am on antibiotics and have to see my GYN again on Thur.
He gave me his cell number to call and says he answers it 24/7 except if he is in surgery. If my temp goes up to 100.4 or I feel worse I am to call him and head to the Hospital ER.
I feel crappy and my temp is 100.
I guess I am going to call him.
Has anyone else had a post op infection

two weeks post op/infection?

I'm so sorry that you are having a rough time, but I can relate. at 8 days out I too had UTI and the first antibiotic that I took for 10 days didnot work, I ended up in the bed with 101 temp and was so sick for 5 days, I thought I was dying! Dr's office called in another stronger antibiotic, and I just finished it yesterday. I hope it don't come back again! I also had a bacterial infection and had to take another antibiotic for that!

I feel much better now, I'm 4 wks 1 day post-op and hope that now I can start my recovery. I know it seems like you are never going to feel better, but I know soon will be recovered and this will be just a memory.

I hope you get to feeling better soon! Get lots of rest, and let us know how you are doing.
