Counting My Blessings

I am now 9 days post-op from a TVH due to uterine prolapse and I just wanted to take a minute to count my blessings:
1. Fantastic doctor-couldn't have asked for a better one. She made sure my husband and I were well informed both before the surgery and after.
2. What a wonderful DH I have-my first week home from the castle was one of the best rests I've ever had in my life. He spent that week making sure I had everything I needed, when he went out to the garage to work, he gave me a walkie-talkie!
3. The surgery center was a dream. It was brand new and I was the first person to stay in my room and I was the only person on the whole floor. The staff made sure I was indeed treated like a princess but they also took good care of DH who spent the night with me.
4. As far as post-op complications, I've had none. Haven't had to take any pain meds for about a week now. I still have 7 days off from work and my on-call is handling everything so when I go back I won't have 3 weeks worth of work piled up.

I don't want this to sound like I'm gloating, I'm not. I just said so many prayers before my surgery and asked for prayers from so many people that this is one way to say "Thanks, God, for hearing and answering my prayers."
I continue to think of and pray for all the wonderful people I've met through this site.

Counting My Blessings

katiej57--
Thanks so much for making my day......I'm 8 weeks post TAH LSO - and I just got home from work thinking how tired I am - and kind of feeling sorry for myself because I don't feel like fixing dinner, etc. I read your post - and thought - she's right, I have SO MUCH to be thankful for......I too had a wonderful Dr., my DH was great when I really needed to rest, and I have a job that has been very understanding with my time off.........thanks again for the post!!

Counting My Blessings

Amen to what both of you said! I just had a very tiring, blues-inspiring day too. Thanks to your postings, I'm much more cheerful now. And counting my blessings as well.
