Yes, it's official. April 7th is my date. My gyn got a copy of my approval letter today from the appeal committee and also got an authorization number as well. I got my letter today, too.
My husband has the copy of the letter so he can photocopy it, so I don't have it in front of me to read it off, but basically it said that although Healthguard (my insurance) doesn't feel that I meet their requirements for this surgery, because of other information brought to light from my file, the opinion of the outside ob/gyn they sent my file to in Oregon, and other circumstances, the appeals committee feels that these circumstances warrants an approval and the surgery will be deemed "medically necessary".
Woooohoooo!!!!!!!!!!
A local radio station here said today is National Happy Day....boy, am I happy.
All my lab paperwork I got before can be used, my pre-anesthesia clinic questionaire can be used, etc., so I don't have to go through the whole paperwork issue again. The only thing I have to do is go to a new pre-op appt. with my gyn. and that is to sign a new order allowing him to do the surgery. The first one I signed is only good for 30 days, and will have expired until April 7th. But my pre-op appt. is nothing like some of the ones I've read from ladies. It's just signing the paper.
So, I'm official. Signed, sealed, delivered, official.
You know, just when I thought life couldn't get any worse, this happens, and just picked me up mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
Well, I have to go....I have planning to do.
