Night Sweats and Hot Flashes

Hi. I have my TAH on 2/23/04. So that would make me 2 weeks post op today. I was able to keep the left tube and ovary. My question is has anyone else been suffering from EXTREME night sweat and hot flashes. I'm going out of my mind. My mood swings are terrible and I can't seem to stop crying. I hurt all over. I have 2 pain killers left and am calling the doctor for another prescription today. I need them. My stomach hurts, my back is killing me. I feel so depressed. My boobs are sore and I know that I should be coming up on my "period" this week. As a matter of fact there was a light pink stain when I peed last night. Is this what I have to look forward to? I must be really stupid because I thought that I would feel better, but I feel the same as before the surgery or maybe even worse. No one has come to visit me because they are all tied with visiting my mom who broke her foot and is still in the hospital. What did I do wrong not to even get a visit or a card or something? Here I go crying again.

I just feel like everyone deserted me and I am very bitter.

Night Sweats and Hot Flashes

Hi Phyllis,

Sorry to hear you're not doing so well. I just wanted to let you know you're NOT all alone. We're here for you.

As for bitterness, try and find a free on-line game in which you can stomp things. ALWAYS makes ME feel better. Might also take your mind off the pain.

Hang in there, kiddo. Things will get better!

Cheers Georgy

Hi Phyllis
You sound like me. I had a LAVH on 3/4 and have been sweeting and crying for 3 days. Every little thing sets me off. I had everything taken out except my cervix. Dr is going to call me today to let me know when I have to come to the office to get stitches out. Hope she puts me on some kind of HRT.
My back hurts my stomach hurts I was spotting a little this morning. I know I have to try and relax and just rest but I cant. I keep thinking of things that need to get done and how am I going to cook dinner for the family!!
My friends have been calling to see how I am but I wish they would offer to bring dinner or something.
DH is home today and he keeps telling me to relax it will all be ok.

HOW DO U RELAX?????

I have no appetite either. I just don't know what to do. When there is a mess, I can't stand it. DH and DS's don't understand why I am crying. Everything hurts and bothers me. I feel so lost and alone. Thank God I have you to talk to. I just feel that everything else is more important than me. Am I being selfish?

No Phyllis
you are not being selfish. You just went through a very big surgery and we are going through a lot!!!
At least we are not alone and have each other to talk to. Right now as I sit here I m getting a hot flash and cant stand it... Is this how my life is going to be for now on???

Maybe in a few months we can laugh at all this because I keep telling my self it has to get better...right thats why we had this surgery in the first place.. s

Im here if u want to talk and remember you are not alone

Im off to take a shower to cool down LOL

Night Sweats and Hot Flashes

Hi,
I am so glad we all have this site to come to. No one understands what we are going through. I am 9 days pos-op from tah & bladder sling. The bowels are not working properly and causing so much extra pain. I feel the whole process and it fells like everything gets stuck before it passes through. I have been eating so much more fiber and drinking prune juice. I am sure things will get better for all of us, as time will help heal us!! let's all hang in there!

Hello Recent Princesses,
I had an LAVH on 2/24. I kept ovaries, however have still suffered a few night sweats. (Hot flashes at night). This is normal. So is crying, being emotional, grumpy, depressed, etc. We had major surgery, anesthesia, pain medications and our hormonal structure has been disturbed. Please don't feel like you are crazy or unreasonable. Try to rest as much as you can. I like the idea of finding something to stomp on in a game.
It takes a while for our bodies to heal inside. It can fool everyone (including ourselves) because we look fine. Vent as much as you want on this board. WE ALL GET IT!!
Hang in there.
Hugz and Luv,
Mary
