Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

Good morning, Shirley and everyone coming later!

It's a work day - we're rushing around like crazy getting ready for the Home and Garden show this weekend. But at least the computer's working.

I've been OP so far this week and will be today. Fiber and potassium for breakfast, tuna/salmon/tomato salad for lunch, crockpot roast for dinner.

I'll be doing my exercise routine when the rest of the household crawls out of bed - then off to make graphics for the H & G show.

I hope you all have a wonderful OP Wednesday!

See ya in chat.

Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

Good morning shirley, I think that you will find that your new approach will eliminate excuses.

Had a great day yesterday until I went to DQ with DD, and it wasn't in moderation. I feel lousy today, hopefully it is just my punishement for that slip up and not the start of the flu. Barely was able to eat my Wheat Chex and banana.

Off to the Y again for water jog, I am finally building up endurance.

Wish I could chat with you all tonite, but will be at Lent service with the family.

Have the BEST day ever, good morning to everyone to come.

Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

Good morning (and special hello to those who posted later on yesterday and whom I didn't get to answer)!

Nice day today. Should be good for a walk. Have managed a walk and a workout so far each day this week, even in bad weather. (In case you read this while you're away, Nancy, don't worry, you still hold the title!)

I realized yesterday that I'm actually having days that are almost totally fat-free (the bad fats, I mean) and also good for cholesterol-fighting. It's not too bad. The oatmeal at breakfast is a little borrrrrrrrrrrrrring after a while, but if it works, it's worth it. A glass of grape juice every day is something I enjoy. And fruits/raw veggies aren't a problem, I like them. Walnuts and almonds and garbanzos and such are good lunch protein, and taste good. And dessert at dinner, unless it's really great, I can do without if I substitute fruit. Red meat rarely attracts me, so I either substitute chicken or just have a whole baked potato (love the skins) and figure out things to put on it so I don't miss the butter.

That's not to say that this is easy, but it's doable with occasional treats thrown in, and I really FEEL good. And a skirt that was too tight a few months ago is now almost wearable!

Last summer I was on the road in rural Maryland and stopped at this great, VERY local place in Galena for supper (usually I'm there for breakfast). Ate Southern fried chicken, deep fried corn fritters, french-fried onion rings. Then stopped somewhere else (don't faint, girls) for a milkshake. By the time I got home I swore I could FEEL the sludge inching through my arteries! Oh, yes it was delicious, though....and worth it on occasion. I sort of planned it into the weekend!

Shirley, sounds like you've really worked OPness into your day's plan!

See you all later. I have a meeting tonight so may/may not be on chat.

Blessings.

Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

Hi Shirley, Sandi, Nano & Marl! Everybody sounds really up & at 'em!

Yesterday in the city was wonderful! Ended up with 3 teens, ages 17, 18, & 19. What a total blast it was! We left at 7:30am & got home at 8 pm! I was pretty OP for being out, ate a decent lunch. Definitely got my exercise in, we walked MILES! I was dead when I got home, even the kids were wiped out, but all were smiling!

After we arrived back in our city we decided to have ice cream for supper so that wasn't so OP. One teen is from Brazil, another Argentina. They said our ice cream is the best so that settled our dinner plans! I do stray into non-OPland so easily. All in the name of culture sharing yesterday.

Today will bring household errands & hopefully, some feet up time. I will drink lots of water/tea. Will do my yoga to stretch out these tired muscles and am sure that will feel great.

I'm glad I reported this morning, it is helping me to feel motivated to do well!

I hope everyone is doing well today & can make it to CHAT tonight!

Oh Marl, forgot to say this. Do you like cottage cheese? It is great on a potato with black pepper & even A-1 sauce if you like it. No kidding, delicious. Sometimes I eat a baked spud with cottage cheese, pepper, green beans & A-1. Sauteed mushrooms too, if I have them. Makes an awesome meal.

My dd likes to put lf or ff ranch dressing on her potato.

Morning,
Getting ready to head to Florida so I hope I can post from there. Today's breakfast was a little fat free bologna sandwich at 6 and now I'm having some cold oatmeal with cottage cheese, peanuts and some dried pineapple (it rehydrates nicely after sitting for a few hours) stirred in. I am not sure what my schedule will bring today so I'm eating now that I have a chance. And I love to share my little creations with all of you

Wish me luck on packing for FL so my parents will approve of my wardrobe and maybe I'll have a chance to check in tomorrow.
Hugs to

Desk

Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

Good Morning

Awesome reports of being energized and OP and having things "fit" that didn't before, etc. WAY TO GO........ Keep up the good work...........I am doing well also, but am really putting the discipline on.......have to get past this holding zone I have been in.

I have been MIA for a few days, but have "lurked" to see how everyone is doing........getting lots done on the home front before March 23rd classes commence.

Desk - have a wonderful visit with your parents and I am sure you will look great to them.

Ann - Please know my prayers were with you and your friend's family even though I didn't pop in. You have had quite a run of things.........hope now these fires I just saw on the news in FL are not your way........

I am sending s and ers to all who need an extra dose of encouragment today and a WAY TO GO for those special goals each has met. Have a totally blessed day everyone

Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

Hi Everyone,

I worked out at Curves for the second time this week. I was feeling a little lousy because of allergies right now but did it. I've marked Friday down as another day (day 3). Tomorrow is a boat day with my DH. I can't wait because it's sunny & high 80's right now.

Desk...I always enjoy hearing about your "science projects" I know I can get away with that & have a safe & great visit. Just make the "BEST" of it. Remember you can always get back in the saddle when you return to your routine. The "Y" will still be there.

If someone can invite me to chat I'd appreciate it. Katie.....where are you? You PM'd me that you would invite me. If anyone else can help I'd appreciate it. Most of you know my DH lost 30 some pounds last year on a Atkins variation & has kept it off. I've been a lot of support for him and other Friends.

Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

Hi everyone!!!!!!!! I have good news! Let me start from the begining so all of what I post here makes sense. Back in Sept. I hated myself............I was fat!!!!!!! I am putting myself out on a limb here. I am 5'4 and weighed 240 flabby pounds! I decided to join Curves and try losing weight my own way. Well, that was slow going for me and I would only lose about a lb. a month. Now I know that is what it should be but when you need to loose a 100 pounds, believe me it is slow going. I lurked here at BEST and then said, what the heck, join these lovely ladies. The support I get here is just like the support I got in the hyst area oh so many years ago. I cannot express my thanks..........words seem inadequate. Then last Monday, I decided to do the SBD. Again, lots of support here. In nine days, I lost 4 and 1/2 lbs.which normally would have taken 4 weeks. So it does work!!!! I also lost 4 inches, the most I lost in one month since the very begining at Curves.
All together now since Sept. 1st I have lost 28 lb.s and 18 inches. And I have you all to thank. Many, many s
Have a wonderful OP day!!!!!!

Wonderful Wednesday~March 10

anyone know how to settle the stomach queazies brought on by taking your vitamins?? I just finished lunch of potato soup, salad, fruit, then took my multi vitamin, glucosamine, and calcium. Not 5 minutes later sitting at my desk my stomach is wanting to come out my throat.

BSQ

Bleah .. ok I walked down to the market and got some diet ginger ale. Hopefully that will help. It is weird how most times my vitamins do not bother me, but occasionally … well, I’m sure many of you have BTDT.

Alrighty, So how am I doing? I’ve been OP and yesterday really seemed to reign in my munchies. I still had them, but limited it to a carb snack a bit before my workout, and a protein snack afterwards. I’ve also quit the grazing thing, which I prefer. I mean it already seems like I eat all day long since I’m a 6-a-dayer.

Yesterday was a lackluster aerobics workout. I was wiped out from my allergies giving me a sinus headache so the whole front of my face hurt as well as an ear ache. Hurry up and bloom stuff! I want to see flowers and leaves if I’m going to be paying for these allergies! Tonight is and I’m going to work with a new gal just to review my form on a couple of machines. I noticed the last few times I have come out with a very sore knee, and it’s a bad sore, not a good sore. (my trainer doesn’t work M, W, F though is there working out).

Hmmm, ginger ale seems to be helping. I’ve got a ton of work to do, so I’ll pop in tonight with my random Q’s. However one thing can not wait! EMILY! : I applaud your courage for putting yourself out there in your underwear so to speak. And congratulations on your most recent loss while starting the SDB, and your totals to date!! Very exciting!

Have a BEST day gals.
