Rented Any Good Movies Lately?

Hi Everyone...
I usually love to read but at 1 week post op, I haven't been able to focus much.
I thought we might start a movie thread -- not too funny, not too sad or violent.
We don't need to be laughing too much
or crying too hard
So far, I've enjoyed:
The Bachelor
Snow Falling on Cedars
Erin Brockovich

Any additions?

Rented Any Good Movies Lately?

I never get to sit down and watch a movie. So I too took the time 1st week post op to catch up on my movies. I watched some I had already seen before and others that were older but that I never got to see. Even made it through titanic for the first time but had to break it up in hour intervals throughout the day, lol. Sort of like alot of intermissions!
I watched:
Erin Brockovich
My best Friends Wedding
Housesitter
Titanic
Matrix
Defending your life (this one is older with Meryl Streep and Albert Brooks, it was funny, and it was a love story of sorts)
Sixth Sense
The Matrix

Just got a shipment from the video club today (13 movies) so I know what the rest of my week is going to consist of, lol.

Rented any good movies

Dear BeckyN,

If you like old movies rent "Rebecca" w/Laurence Olivier.
Try "How Green Was My Valley". Both are fabulous." Gone with the Wind" is one I watch at least once a year and it has the extra added attraction of being long. I love old movies, particulary if I'm under the weather. They are so much more relaxing that modern movies. Sometimes all the cussing and mach speed action coupled with violence gets on my last nerve. A last thought - "Hunt for the Red October" with Sean Connery is a very good movie.

In keeping with today (Halloween) my favorite "scary" movie
is Young Frankenstein. Hilarious!! Uh oh. Better not watch this one --too too funny.

Sending you healing thoughts and prayers,

Sara

From the Tv show "The X-Files:
Dana Scully: "Mulder, have you ever considered death"?
Fox Mulder : "Once, when I was at the Ice Capades".

I just watched Music of the Heart. It was excellent. Not funny, not sad, just uplifting.

Rented Any Good Movies Lately?

This is my first reply --
I had wonderful support from my family members.
They rented for me:
Music from the Heart
The Green Mile (excellent - you will cry a little at end)
A Bugs Life -- enjoyed with the nephews
Toy Story 2 - also with Nephews.

Any movie works - just go easy on the comedy for awhile -- the laughing does hurt!

Rented Any Good Movies Lately?

Hi ladies

Here on Earth...GREAT, GREAT, GREAT. Sad at the end.
Shanghi(sp?) Noon... funny
The Green Mile
If you like scary movies then "The Haunting" is a very good movie.
The Out-of-Towners with Steve Martin & Goldie Hawn. Pretty funny. I know, kinda old but cute.
Deuce Bigalow, VERY FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have cable, then try renting the pay movies on there. They play the pretty recent ones.

Isn't it funny when you try to remember movies you draw blank?

Anyway, hope these help...Much love to all...

Same ...movie time here too...

I just saw two movies in the last few days, "Sixth Sense" whose ending I was not at all prepared for and was surprised and "Anna and the King" which I really loved and highly recommend. That one I had to take intermissions for. A few days before that, "On any Sunday" with Cameron Diaz and I think it was Robert DeNiro which didn't impress me that much but if you are a football fan you may like it and Sandra Bullock in "Twenty eight days".
I never seem to take time to watch moves and really enjoy this..also can't seem to concentrate much on reading myself. I have some new magazines I never even got into.

Let us know a little review on some movies when you write about them.. I am having trouble to remember what I had seen before and what I haven't so look up reviews on the internet..but don't see many.
