Lupron, will it wear off?

Hi all Hyster Sisters

now on day 9 post op and having an amazing recovery. I'm so fortunate. One concern is - I was taking medication similar to Lupron for three months before op. to shrink fibroid (although doctor reported that my uterus was still size of 16 week pregnancy on removal!). I'm still getting hot flushes and night sweats even though my ovaries weren't removed (both were healthy), so I'm still waiting for the effects of the medication to wear off. Anyone know how long this will take? My last monthly depot was February 6th. Found this medication the worst part of the whole process, so will be glad to see the back of it.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Lupron, will it wear off?

I'm in the same boat--8 days post op & Lupron decided to finally start working now that I *don't* need it. The past few days I was having hot flashes every 30 minutes! whew! Hubby & I made the best of it--claiming I was having a "Sauna Moment"--like some pampered queen sitting in her sauna! LOL Anyway, Dr started me on Norethindrone yesterday to hopefully tone down the hot flashes, etc. Meanwhile, from what I read in the Lupron pamphlet, it takes approximately 12 weeks after you've finished taking Lupron for things to return to normal. oh yay. But, hey, I am just glad to be on the other side of this surgery!
