Scar tissue or breast lump?

I had a benign breast cyst removed two and a half years ago. Benign but with hyperplasia. It seems like just overnight that I have felt right underneath the scar a hard, odd-shaped lump that hurts (sometimes stabbing pains) It moves a little but is hard. Could this be scar tissue that is just starting to hurt for some reason? On my yearly mammo. and ultrasound they found a cyst in the same breast that they want to keep an eye on. I almost feel like a pain calling her again with something else. Any advice or experiences will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Call and report this to your doctor. That is what they are there for. It is probably nothing but you do not know until you are examined by a physician.

Scar tissue or breast lump?

Hi Kimberley,

Although I do not have first hand personal knowledge on the subject, I do have a close friend who has had numberous breast cysts removed. Thankfully, each time they were benign but the scar tissue did build up on her too.

Please give your doctor a call if for nothing else but peace of mind.

Scar tissue or breast lump?

Call Your Dr and tell her what you are feeling. I have had 3 lumps removed and I also had some scar tissue. I never had any pain with it and mine was almost all gone with in a year. I have found a new lump that i need to go see about. The last 3 have been bengin but also with Dysplasia. The way i see it All lumps belong in a JAR not in my body. Good luck and lets us know what the DR says.

Don't worry about being "a pain." I mean, it's not like you're calling because you have a hangnail. It's something you need to report. If they don't know about it, they can't treat it if it needs treating. If it doesn't need treating, they still need to know about it.

I have given up on worrying about "being a pain" at this point in my treatment. If I call my doctor's nurse twice in one day, so be it. I'm paying them. It's my job to get well. It's their job to help me get well. (And I, too, am not calling about hangnails.)

Hope this helps!
