Surgery Over / Blood Clot

Hi Sisters!!! I'm back. I had my surgery March 9th. All went well with the surgery. I had a total Hyst abdom/with both ovaries removed, plus a Hernia repaired. The hospital stay was okay. I was in bad shape the first day of surgery. Then day by day it got better. The Doctor told me I really challenged her abilities. When she got in there my uterus was so big she had to take it out in 4 pieces. We thought all along I had 1 fibroid tumor and it turned out to be 5. the largest one was the size of a grapefruit and the others were almost the same. My uterus was the size of a watermelon. She said she could not believe I lived with that in me as long as I did. I told her we tend to get use to the pain and discomfort after awhile. Anyway I came home on a Fri and Sat morn I woke up and could not walk on my left foot. It was swollen and my ankle and heel hurt so bad. Every day it got worse then my calf started to hurt too, I called the doctor and she sent me for a ultrsound of my leg. Sure enough I had a blood clot beneth my knee in back of the knee. So now I am on blood thinners and I had to receive shots in my stomach for blood thinning. It still hurts but I believe it is getting better. I have had to stay off my feet for the last week. They do not know how long it will take for the clot to disolve, but let me tell you the pain from that blood clot was almost worse that the operation pain. It still hurts when I sit or stand so I have to lay down most of the time. I go tomorrow to get the staples out about 32 of them. I can't wait. Well I just wanted to write and report on how all went. I hope everyone who had ther're operations since me are doing well. God Bless everyone and lots of Love Nalamina

Clot Sister

I am undergoing treatment for a blood clot also (D.V.T.)

As I have also told everyone, the surgery was a piece of cake compared to the leg pain. In fact, when people ask how I am doing with the surgery, I forget I even had abdominal hyster.

The blood thinner will help, but my doctor told me this is a slow healing process. Hang in there and please feel free to email me.

God bless you,
Lene'
