South Beach Diet
Southie,
When would you like to start? pick a day and lets do it! we can weigh in weekly?
I was in a support group on the Prevention Web site last year, It was OK but I would rather not do that...."to much squabble" . I would like to keep it fun and happy.....it's feels like sisterhood here!
So here is my RAP song.....

Hi my name is Ding!
I'm short and stout here me pout,
loosing 25 lbs is my goal, so pass on that jelly roll!
going low carb is the rage you see!
So come along with me! we can loose the fat!
with the South Beach Diet you can do just that! BLING BLING

LOL! LOL! LOL!
Love that rap!
Fun and happy, now THAT gets my attention. Support and sisterhood, that's the idea!
Okay, how about Monday for an "official" start. I am a pretty faithful SBDieter, but I could kick it up a notch, as Emeril says, to really get my weight loss going at a more rapid pace. My goal is just a little bit higher than yours -- I want to lose 30 pounds.
So now I have a few days to get psyched up with a new attitude.
Anyone else out there want to join us????

Yes, I am on board with you all! I started SBD on Tues. It is going well so far. A few headaches at night from lack of sugar but thats the price I pay!
Good luck to all!

the SBD is the best!!!!! - Before my surgery I went on it and lost 19 pounds without a big problem!!!!!!!!! I know it really helped my recovery and would recommend anyone who has put on weight before surgery to do it, as you lose a lot very quickly. It is totally motivating.
Now, being home for 3 weeks, I have gained a couple of pounds, but as I'm able to walk more and go back to work in a week, I think I'll be able to stay on it. I'm happy to answer any questions or chat about it. Let me know

 uwgrad83,
Those headaches will pass, it's a little hard at first but your body will adjust. Do you have the book? I'm going to read mine over again to re-fresh my brain. Right now I'm putting more ice in my Coke and half Splenda and half Sugar in my Coffee, tomorrow I'll be going for the Land O Lakes Fat Free Half & Half instead of the reg. The Bread cravings are gone since I started the SBD back last June thats a good thing! so by Monday I should be "good to go!". I know if I start cold turkey I would be a PILL to live with!.....been of the Beach since last Thanksgiving but I'm looking forward to loosing those 25 lbs!
THE COUNT DOWN BEGINS!!!
Take care 's

what do you mean "feel worse?" physically or psychologically. Actually, compared to the amounts of cookies, or potato chips that i used to eat at a sitting, i haven't splurged at all, except for the chocolate chips i eat every day. I'm finding that i look at the sugar content of foods i buy, and also stop and ask myself...do I really need more, or another piece of whole wheat bread, even though it takes great? And I don't have more. I really feel that I've changed my pattern of eating. Also, I weigh myself every day to really keep on top of it. Now that I know I can lose weight quickly, my plan is to stay on top of it without having to go back to phase 1, unless absolutely necessary. I have started eating yogurt...look for dannon low carb strawberry yogurt...it's way less sweet and in 4 oz containers and a great snack. It's hard to find though.
I guess I'm a poster child for the SBD and for laparoscopic hysterectomies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
