TAH/TVH questions

i am wondering how they determine which hysterectomy you will have? i have stage 1a1 cervical cancer, i want a hysterectomy instead of the cold kofe cone, i see my oncologist on the 5th. this is one of the questions i have that is really bothering me and i was hopeing you could give me the answer before i drive myself crazy. i really really do not want my stomach cut, but understand it may have to happen, i have been trying to look back through the archives and determine what stage everyone was at and which hysterectomy they had, but that was not adding up.....please tell me how they decide!!!

TAH/TVH questions

I had a TVH. The LEEP showed adenocarcinoma in situ so they thought that all I needed was a total hysterectomy. It turned out to be stage 1a. I am fine. It has been over 2 years since my surgery.

TAH/TVH questions

Hi Dag,

I had an abdominal hysterectomy. As far as my oncologist/gynocologist was concerned, that is the only way to get a really good look at things inside. I was glad we did it that way.

No matter what you decide, please make sure that an oncologist/gynocologist does your surgery. They are the experts in the field and know exactly what to look for.

If you want things done right the first time, go to the expert!!

TAH/TVH questions

My doctor didn't give me a choice. I had four kids vaginally, but now I have to go through an abdominal hysterectomy.
