Any LSH patients there?

Hi!

I am having my LSH on Tuesday. I was wondering if you could tell me how your recovery went. From everything I have read, LSH seems to have by far the quickest recovery.

I am very active and am dying to get back to my normal fitness routine and teaching my classes. How long before you were back to your "regular" self?

Thanks for the input! I can't wait to be on the other side of this and back to my normal life.

Thank you!!!!

Although it seems that LSH is quicker to recover from than some of the other procedures, it is important to remember that it is still major surgery. Don't be in a rush to get back to "normal", you can't see how the internal healing is going and it is better to wait a little longer than you'd like just to be sure you are ok.

If you use the search feature and put in *LSH (has to be 4 letters for the search) you will get a list of threads that have dealt with LSH surgery.

Best wishes!

Hi Wonderwoman;

Wishing you the very best on your upcoming surgery. I am also having L.S.H. on april 27th. I cannot wait to hear how wonderful yours went. I have spoken to many women whom have had this surgery and it seems that 2 weeks time seems to be the answer for getting back to work etc. I am also a fitness queen and look forward to working out aswell but I think that we have to wait to see how we feel and not rush things too quickly. One woman told me that it took her 3 months to feel better and on the same day another woman told me that she was on a treadmill 4 days after surgery.So as you can see I guess that we just have to wait it out and see how we feel. Afew days ago there was a very negative post from someone who had our type of surgery. I did't sleep well for 2 nights after reading it!!

I wish you a very uneventful operation and recovery and please let me know how everything went.

Hugs and more hugs,

Debbie

Debbie,

I will let you know how it goes. I had 6 hours of elective surgery this last week...couldn't do them together, long story! Anyway, I have bounced back pretty well. Still took a two hour nap today though.

My ob/gyn is actually doing my first post-op appt. at one week so we can discuss what I can do and when. After 6 days so far of sitting and exercise consisting of mainly using the upstairs bathroom and walking up and down the stairs each time, quite frequently I might add, I am anxious to get back to they gym after the LSH.

Look for my posts over the next week or two! All the best to you! Hopefully by the time you have yours I will already be back at the gym my usual 20+ hours per week!!!
