Are these hot flashes? night sweats?

I am three and half weeks post op for TAH (ovaries and tubes too) and am taking a low dosage of estrogen (Estradiol). Several times in the last couple of weeks my face has gotten really hot, not the rest of my body, just my face. Is this a hot flash do you think? Other women I know have their whole bodies get hot when they have a hot flash, so I don't know if this is just my particular brand of hot flash or if it might be indicative of something else.

Also, most nights lately, I wake up in the night with my hair wet and my pillow all sweaty--yuck! The rest of me is not sweating though. Again, I don't know if this qualifies as night sweats or if it's something else (I would occasionally have this happen for years before I had my hysterectomy--just figured it was part of the perimenopause thing). From what I have read on this site and heard elsewhere, it seems like when women have night sweats their whole bodies are drenched, not just their heads.

Maybe I'm just a "head case" ...but I would really appreciate hearing if you think I am having hot flashes and night sweats. Thanks for any enlightenment you can send my way!

Are these hot flashes? night sweats?

Hi!
You are too funny! Of course you arent a nut case. My hot flashes would be in different places....sometimes even on my upper arms. My night sweats too.. sometimes my trunk region, sometimes my head..sometimesmy arms. I wouldnt always wake up, but could tell I'd had one when Iwoke up and my hair was plastered to me. I explained them to hubby as like they radiated out from me. I'm no Dr..but those sound like the surges I had. We are all different, and do our own strange things! Good Luck! Laura
