Just Checking In
Hello fellow sisters.
Sorry I have not been on the site for a while, I have had a lot going on. The worst of it being trying to get a hold of the pain which has been out of control and the meds they put me on makes my brain all foggy and its difficult to see.
I still do not have a surgery date and yesterday I had to call my doctor and demand one. I am supposed to get an answer today. My in laws have retained an attorney if things do not start moving quickly. If this goes on much longer surgery will not be an option anymore.
You see, at the last meeting me and my family had with the doc was that I really did not have a lot of time to waste. Yet it has almost been a month and I still don't have a surgery date. My family is furious.
My problem has been trying to get control of the pain. I have been put on pain patches (2) which stay on for 3 days. I am also taking my morphine with the patches.
That has been the main reason that I have not visited this site. I have been so doped up I can't make heads or tails of anything. The only person I have been communicating with has been MarieCoo by private email. However, I think I am going to do what she is and have someone else send my messages to the website for me.
Today is a good day and I am able to write on my own. I hope that everyone is doing good and I am sorry that I have not been on to meet any of the new people who have joined. But my thoughts are with you all.

Just Checking In
Oh, Forgen! It's so good to see you on line. I've been wondering about how you were doing.
Can't imagine why they have waited so long with that surgery. We can only hope that there's a valid reason and that they know it won't affect the outcome negatively. Waiting is so hard in these situations, and I can understand your family's anger.
You said you'll get your surgery date today...please let us know! That way we'll start aiming all those prayers and good wishes towards the target date!
Forgen, keep on fighting. We are all with you!
Blessings.

Just Checking In
forgen,
I am glad you checked in because I have been wondering what was happening, if you had the surgery yet. I am sorry you are in so much pain and being made to wait so long. I had to wait for 3 months from the time my tumor was discovers until the surgery all because the insyrance company would not authorize a Dr. It us cruel and unhumane. I am glad you in laws are helping you.
Please keep in touch, You are in my prayers every day

Forgen!
I am so glad to see a message from you but so sorry to hear about your problems. Waiting a month to schedule the surgery is too long! My goodness! What is wrong with these doctors?! You shouldn't have to be dealing with any of this stuff. Let your husband, or in laws, or someone else, bug the doctors and take care of what you need to have done. You should only be worrying about yourself and getting through the pain. I sure hope that you feel some relief soon!
We're all here, thinking of you and praying for you.
Love, hugs, and comfort,
Janie

Hi Forgen,
I am really glad that you checked in. I still think and worry about you everyday. The pain sounds really awful and it stinks that you have had to wait so long. Have your husband get very demanding with them. You need to save your strength to deal with the cancer.
Please do continue to let us know how you are doing. We really care what happens to you!
Take Care

Good to hear from you
I hope that you will get your surgery date very soon and that there will be time to get all those cancer cells out once and for all. Please have family or friends update us if you're unable--your job is to be ready for the surgery. May the pain get under control and stay under control and may that surgery be soon and get you well.

Forgen, it's so good to see a post from you! I only wish it had better news than the old "hurry up and wait" routine doctors seem to dish out so well.
I hope you get your surgery date today, and I hope it is soon. You are in my thoughts and prayers every day.

Dear Forgen,
I am so sorry you have been in so much pain. I agree with everyone else, it is unacceptable to have to wait this long for a much needed surgery. Good luck to you.

Forgen - I am sorry you have to wait so long for your surgery. Is changing Drs/hospitals an option for you?
I am so sorry you have to go through this pain. Please keep us posted - I will be saying prayers for you.
Hugs,
Jan

I am so glad to hear from you, although not at all happy to hear your news.
Please, have your family go to the state insurance ombudsman, or just get an appointment with another physician. Can you go to UC Davis? A month is scary beyond imagining, especially with your pain.
Is there any chance of attempting to shrink your tumor with radiation (forgive me if that's already been done???) to buy some time and hopefully make surgery easier? The other question I have is about pain management, if there isn't some combination that wouldn't leave you so drowsy.
You have been in my prayers since your first few posts (we have a Jewish prayer called the "Mishbeyrach" for healing and for peace that has a beautiful melody -- I sing in our choir at my synagogue and when I sing it, your name is always at the top of my er list).
Is there some way your DH or kids could stay in touch with one of us, like Cheryl (who as you know has been our contact with (((Maria))) )?
As you see, we care -- I know that mine aren't the only prayers on your behalf. I hope you can get pain management that leaves you a bit less "doped up" .
Big s. Thank you so much for writing and updating us here. We've worried about you!
Audrey
