Gross question

Ok this a really disguisting question but I am going to ask it anyway. Is is appropriate to ask to see my discarded body parts. I mean I think it would be kind of neat to see them since I am in the medical field right now. heaven knows I dont want to keep them I think that is gross but I think it w ould be kinda cool to see them.

Gross question

Perfectly normal. Although, when they show you, you probably will not remember because of all the drugs. Ask them to photograph it for you. Then, you will remember it.

Gross question

I remember the first time I had fibroids removed and my doctor showed me before and after pictures. He said here these are for you - okay just what I wanted. Actually it was pretty interesting. I still have the pictures (but don't worry they are not framed and hanging on the wall - hahahaha). Hey - it's your body - you have been dealing with it - if you want to see what has been causing you problems I think you should be able to - at least a picture.

gross question

That is a good idea about the pictures. I have pictures of my scope (which I occassionally like to gross people out with. Especially when they ask me why I WANT to have this surgery) Then I can make a scrapbook. Hee hee

Gross question

You might want to ask your doctor to take a picture for you. Many of them do this! To actually see the actual body parts is most likely an impossible request~they MUST be sent for pathology!!! Discuss ahead of time with your doctor and see if s/he will take a picture of everything and label it for you! Alot of times, they take one anyway! Ask ahead of time, in case they need you to bring your own camera.

That really wasn't a Gross question~many of us are curious what our own body parts look like! It just isn't something many people want to share!!!

Wow, good idea. I am going to ask my Dr to take a picture of the octuplets for me! My co-workers (cops) have been joking that they'd like to see them, so maybe the joke will be on them. LOL.

Gross question

I actually thought about asking if I could have it in a jar with formaldahyde. It's very gross, yes. I am a nurse & I love gross / anatomical stuff. My boss would love it if I brought it in, too! How many people can say they have their uterus in a jar I was going to ask at my pre-op, but I forgot. My Dr. did say everything that comes out has to go to pathology, though. So I guess that would be a no. A picture or two would still be cool though.

Ilbeach99,
Maybe you could dress up the octuplets with sticker outfits for the office? LOL!

Gross question

Good idea! Maybe I'll make paper dolls out of them! Put little sticker clothes on them.. The guys would really get a kick out of that.

LOL. I'm glad we can see some humor in all this!

Gross question

In case you haven't notice no one thought this was a gross question, in fact it is a question that comes up often.

Also we have had sister's here that have requested thier parts to have for lack of a better word a "burial" for their womanhood. It may not be what interests you or I but for those who have or will in the future request this, it gives them closure.
