?'s for 5wk check-up

I had check-up at 1 wk,tomorrow is 5wk check-up.Have wrote down a couple, like what can I do know, how much to lift, driving? Does anyone have any others that you didn't think of when you were there? 1st one I forgot everything I wanted to ask.

I need to vent on this one. Today I recieved a bill from asst. dr .
Very upset by this more so that I was not told there would be one or what they were there for. I know thats probably normal, but why wasn't I told. Maybe he did something and I wasn't informed! I guess I'm just angry because being asleep you don't know what goes on . I would exspect a dr to tell you there might be an asst.WILL ask dr about this tomorrow. Already questioning her because when I ask what was wrong with uterus she said "Doesn't matter it's gone now" then finally told me in dr terms. Also asking for path. report because I still don't really know. It hurt my feelings when she said it doesn't matter it does matter it's my body!
Thanks for listening sometimes you get more answers on this site than from dr.

NERVOUS, absolutely, jot down notes. So much is going on that you just can't remember everything. Also, the "brain fog" may be kicking in. LOL! I bring notes all the time & my doc has come to expect it from me... the minute he enters the room his eyes dart to my hands to see if I have my black leather agenda with me. When I have it he says, "Oh, no" but when I don't he asks where it is! As for the assisting surgeon, there should always be one but, yes, you should have been informed. I was asked once if I minded having a student observe a laparoscopy. Glad to know my hospital's administrators seem to be sure that the patient needs to give permission. As for your doc's snippy answer to your question about your uterus all I can say is she's lucky I'm not you 'cuz I would have pulled every hair out of her head & then proceeded to report her to the hospital administration offices & the state medical board of review. This is YOUR body, YOUR health & well-being. Jot down MORE notes as she's talking. Write down the medical terms & stop her at every one & demand that she explain it language that you can more easily understand. Don't allow her to hurt your feelings... you could hurt her career by reporting her to the authorities. YOU are in control. Best of luck & hang tough.

ceefree, thanks for that bit of info. I had no idea, I just knew it didn't seem fair to me,as I did allow her to cut on my body.I really do wish I would have said more to her{thought that as soon as I left the office}but I was so shocked as she was so caring and understanding before surgery even called her day before for last minute questions. Again THANKS ALOT!!

I would have been shocked, too! I'd bet my bottom dollar you won't let her speak with you like that again! Just take care of yourself. We are really lucky to have this site to learn from & to vent to. I love it. Well, off to bed... 5 & 1/2 weeks out of surgery & it's past my bedtime! Feeling better every day, though. Hope all my new "Sisters" are, too. Goodnight.
