My last question, promise!!!
Going in Tue. morn. and my mind has been all over the place. But, that's not my most recent problem. For the past 2 weeks I've started having hot flashes, and I'm only 25. Also, some nights , I just toss and turn at night. Other nights I will sleep great. I really don't think this stuff is over stress, or my nerves. My aunt suggested that my ovaries could be shutting down. I am having them removed, but, have not been told of any reason why this could be happening. Can anybody shed some light on this situation??

Me too
I am a lot older (46) but started with hot flashes a few weeks after finding out I would have surgery. It's weird it's like my body knows surgery is coming. Also, I rarely have skipped a period in my whole life and now I have not had one. (no, I am not pregnant)
It's the stranges thing.............maybe the mind does control more than we realize.
Ask as many questions as you want and don't apologize.
We are here for each other !
I will be thinking of you and praying for you on Tuesday.

My last question, promise!!!
I thought it was weird on my part too. About a month before my recent surgery I started having hot flashes and night sweats. I thought the same thing....that my body knew that I was getting rid of the ovaries and they just said the <admin. snip> with it and shut down.

My last question, promise!!!
That is so weird to hear! I had the same problem! I knew I was not alone!
I was supposed to have my surgery on March 9th, but do to a medical emergency with my Dr.-it had to be postponed until the 22nd of March instead. During those days in between, I was so hot and my sheets were soaking wet in the middle of the night. And as far as I can remember, they NEVER were before that-maybe our bodies do know what is going on!

Mind/body connection
The hot flashes and sleep disturbances are all too familiar to me. For me, it was caused by my unrecognized depression and anxiety. You may think you aren't stressed or anxious, but come on, how can you NOT be anxious about the prospect of being completely, utterly NOT in control of your own precious body during your surgery and recovery? I mean, when was the last time you had to report on the progress of your bowel movements, hmmm?? When a person is depressed or anxious, they are often the least likely to recognize the symtoms of their own condition. I suggest you tell your doctor about night sweats and hot flashes, and get some medication for it. Really. Brain medication fixes the body, and rather quickly, too. It isn't so mysterious after all, is it?
