No sex drive...testosterone fine

Had a hysterectomy about 6 years ago. Had a great sex life until my problems started, then had one for about 2 months after the surgery, then none. Have tried the cream. Was recently checked for test. levels in blood, they were fine. Any suggestions? Once I feel quilty enough to give in, it is wonderful!!! But the problem is, I just don't have a sex drive, and the doctor kept asking if my husband and I were having problems. Which we aren't. That made me upset and even more frustrated than I already am. Any help would be greatly appreciated? Does anyone know anything about PCOS, there was an article on it in Woman's World, and I seem to have some of the symptoms, but the website doesn't really offer that much information.

PCOS ....nice to know it's not just me

Thanks for replying, I'm only 36 and have been married 17 years. I'm lucky also to have a husband that's great. But the guilt is bad, and I miss the sex drive.

PCOS is Polycystic ovarian syndrome. The symptoms are irregular periods, facial or body hair, thinning hair, acne, infertility, weight gain and gaining weight only in the abdomen. The article in Woman's World says to measure your neck and if it's 16" or more, that's a big indicator. Most people with this disease have cysts on their ovaries. That is one of the things that caught my attention and got me to reading it. The article says you can have one or several of these signs and have PCOS. It causes no sex drive. I went to their website and took a test and scored a 5, which said I needed to discuss the matter with my doctor. The last time I went to the doctor, she kept asking me about my husband, and my testosterone level was fine. If any of these symptoms sound familiar, you could go to the website and take the test, before you go to the doctor. I would also recommend reading this article in Woman's World;April 13,2004 issue. And even take it with you to the doctor. The website for PCOS is www.pcosupport.com. There has been mention of an article in Reader's digest. I'm going to see if I can find it and if it gives any more details than this one.

Good luck, hope your doctor is more helpful than mine was back in December.

PCOS...anyone have information?

Sorry, I copied down the address wrong, it's www.pcosupport.org.
It just doesn't give enough information, but it has a quiz to take to see if that is what you possibly have.

shym126, The antidepressants will cause you to lose your sex drive and fast. they are known for that. i have been on 3 different ones and all 3 did the same thing. it is a shame that something that can make us feel better one way can make us feel worse another way. i hate hate hate those meds.good luck.
