ovarian remnant syndrome

Hello sisters,

I was wondering if any of you ladies ever had this? I had a mass removed on 4-2-04 and the results came back that it was ovarian remnant syndrome, which part of the ovary had been left in from a previous DR. The first Dr. that I had my hyst. with told me when I complained that I had a pulling on my left side , she told me that I was no longer a Gyne problem and there was nothing else she could do for me. I had a terrible depression I went through and I felt that ther was something wrong. well now I know I wasn't crazy, I really did have something, "a MASS". My new DR. told me I should be ok. Thank my LORD!!! I have just suffered with the pain and guessing for 1 year and 4 months, and just sick and tired of being sick and tired.

All of you have a great night.

love,
tobytob

Call her up and tell her off!

Oh TOBY!
I am glad you're doing better now. I went through something sorta similar where in a span of 11 months I'd seen 10 different Drs complaining of pelvic pain and constipation. Finally one (the one I kept! lol) found the ovarian mass that fell out of place and blocked my intestines. It feels SO horrible to be dismissed like that!

But just to get it off my chest, so I could move on, I made a couple of phone calls when I was out of the hospital and recovering. I called Dr's that had upset me the most, making personal insults and accusing me of overreacting to a little constipation. I said "I just wanted to let you know, so in case in the future you come across another hysterical housewife like me, that I had an adnexal mass blocking my intestine" I had a few choicer words for the two women Drs who I *HOPED* would be more sensative or concerned about ovarian cancer, but they blew me off WORSE than the guys!

As I mentioned in another post, one of them said "I see 10 backed up women a day just like you, why don't you just go to Walgreen's and buy some Ex-Lax, it only costs a couple dollars" And THIS was an alleged colon "specialist"! I told her she missed EVERY SINGLE red flag for ovarian cancer, and THANK God what I had was not malignant because if I had taken her advice and used Metamucil all day, I'd be dead. Furthermore I instructed her to
A. take some continuing education classes on the basic symptoms of pelvic cancers or
B find a new field of expertiese because if she was really seeing 10 women a day, JUST LIKE me, there were 10 women a day in a lot of trouble!

Now, being a chicken, I rehearsed this beforehand, because normally I'm not the type who can just belt out something like that. I can't tell you what relief I got from telling them off. AND I gotta say, I am almost POSITIVE they have been a little more interested in their future patients. One of the them even THANKED me pointing out that she spoke harshly to me and I didn't deserve that, the other one tried to pretend she didn't say what she said, but in the end also apologized albeit in a round about way. I am NOT a confrontational person at all, but this was a battle I chose and I haven't harbored any resentment toward them since I told them what I thought about the care I got. I highly reccomend you doing the same!
Puppet.
