Any discomfort you may have will be minimal. The procedure is quick and once they are out WHEW what a relief not to have those things pulling!

the procedure is quick and it hardly hurts. I had a couple that were stubborn and the supervising nurse walked the student nurse thru it. That scared me to have a studen nurse doing this...i agree it feels better then them catching on those funny undies they give you in the hosp and pulling.
In my opinion what hurt the worst was the bandage coming off. the nurse took mine off sat night as I was having trouble constantly going and she had to do a bladder scan. I swear they put the bandages on with super glue!

I'm a big baby when it comes to these things, and I was worried ahead of time. In my opinion, no, it didn't hurt. I couldn't believe it. I had 39 staples and the nurse just went down the row and had them out in no time at all and with no discomfort at all to me. So, relax. It will be fine.

My visiting nurse gave me the tip ahead of time to try and keep my body relaxed as they were removed. She suggested deep breathing like one does in labor. I had already discovered using this technique while I was in the hospital whenever someone did something potentially painful to me because I've found it really does help. (I agree that the tape which held the bandage coming off was the part that hurt a little.)

I had surgery on a Monday, the bandage came off the next morning and the staples were removed Friday. It didn't hurt a bit. I thought for sure it would. When the nurse finished I said are you done, I didn't even feel the majority of them coming out, I guess I was still numb. The few I did feel felt like something rubbing across my skin, that is all. Good luck at your Dr. appt.

Only 1 of mine hurt coming out, but the discomfort was very minimal, the rest of them I couldn't feel anyway because I was still numb from the surgery.
