Went to pre-op, surgery cancelled : )

I went to my gyn in January because of a sudden onset of abnormal bleeding. During an ultrasound exam she discovered a grapefruit sized cyst on my right ovary. The endometrial biopsy showed that I had simple hyperplasia without atypia. The gyn prescribed Prometrium. Neither the hyperplasia nor the cyst changed at all, so we decided to remove the ovary and do a D & C for the hyperplasia. My surgery was scheduled for tomorrow morning. My gyn did another ultrasound last Thursday to make sure that nothing had changed – and it had all changed! The grapefruit sized cyst on my ovary had disappeared, and my hyperplasia had decreased! I am to continue the Prometrium, and get re-checked in four months.
Thank you to all on this site ~ I would have already had a hyst by now if I had not found this site. My first reaction was ~ get it outta there! After reading posts here, I realized that what I have wasn’t as scary as it first seemed, and not every condition requires surgery to correct it.
